I have a few things that plug into my trailer hitch, draw bars, tow hooks, a step etc.. It seemed like they were always laying around and in my way. Decided this week to try and remedy that. Its working out pretty well and definitely got them all up and out of the way.

That is pretty awesome! Nice touch with the paint. Are they going to be in the way sticking out from the wall? I might steal this concept, except the receivers are expensive.

Just buy a piece of square tubing and cut into the lengths of the receivers. You don't need all the reinforcement at the edge and the through hole just to hang a hitch on the wall.

Thanks. The receiver tubes are actually pretty cheap. $12-$14.00 from etrailer or amazon. They really don't seem to be an issue sticking out. Since the drawbars bottom out inside the receiver tube it really isn't that bad. And Jim is absolutely correct, it could have definitely be done with just square tube. I had a couple receiver tubes already on the shelf so I just got a few more to keep it all uniform and use up what I had.

Receiver tubing is different than regular square tubing. It has the seam weld removed inside and is more expensive.

You are probably right about this, as I have never bought any "receiver" tubing. But I have built a dozen or so receivers and square tubing works quite well. I never had any problems.

7echo, its just a step/ back up light protector. It hits the snow windrow before the lights do when backing out of driveways.
