upon finding this site several months ago, I (naturally) have been spending a bit more time in my garage. Built some storage and some workbenches and have done a fair bit of cleaning up (rather throwing stuff out - it is still a mess). I finished my winter project in the house and decided to take on the task of redoing most of the tape joints on the drywall in the garage and then giving the walls a coat of paint (the drywall is '70s style brown and has taken on a fair amount of stains). Most tape has come loose or is cracking at the edges. I started this on Saturday. Tonight, I was out there sanding some of the new work, and my girlfriend comes home and has a fit that I'm spending time sanding to make it look decent!
I'm not trying to make it absolutely perfect, but you can be damned sure I don't want a bunch of ridges left from the blade edge. Most of the walls will end up covered when all is said and done, but I just think it should be done. I guess women don't understand. Finally I told her if she quits harassing me I might have enough done to put things back together enough to park her car in the garage while we're gone for the weekend... and then she acted pissy and just went to bed
no point going to bed now, might as well have another beer
