A new compressor project

I've been getting by with one of the mid sized harbor freight units for a few years now, and while it's served well, I get tired of waiting for it to catch up at times.

So, when I saw all this on CL for a good price, I hauled it home. It is in pieces. Nothing is bolted together, no belt, no pressure switch. It came with a 3ph 5hp motor with bad bearings, as well as a 1ph 3hp motor that spins nicely but lacks a pulley. The pump flywheel has a crack, and there's RTV all over the manifolds where they bolt to the head. It feels good when I turn it over by hand though. I'm guessing a few new gaskets will rejuvenate it nicely. I believe it's an R15B, so it should serve me well if I can get it up and running.

Does anyone know where to find a cheap 2PNO contactor that has auxiliary NC contacts? I may need it for the control scheme I'm planning.

Thanks for the suggestion. I found some options there, but their parametric search was a bit frustrating. It doesn't work until you pick a narrow category, but there seem to be many categories that could work for me. Finding the best deal there may prove tedious.

I did stumble onto a easy to read datasheet at allied electric for the ABB products:

Using that, I think an A16-30-01-84 would work well. I was able to pick up a set of two for $35 on eBay. This should allow me to run the compressor on the same circuit as another power-hungry device. I can wire the coil circuit of each contactor through the auxiliary NC contacts of the other contactor. This way, whichever device turns on first keeps priority until it is done running, then the other device can take over. This allows my to mount my compressor in another remote building and get it away from the shop, but doesn't require me to dig an extra trench to run more power.

Just use a 3 pole motor starter. Much easier to find cheap.

I did go with a 3-pole in the end. Got some for $17 each with the NC contacts that I needed.
