This will interest many but mostly those Down Under. Whilst collecting my Sunday paper today I spotted a magazine called ManSpace magazine that covers Garages and Shed in Australia. What got me was a Garage built under a Tennis Court and then to read further to find an article on the Electric car factory here in Castlemaine.

The web site is www.manspacemagazine.com.au but do not waste your time as it takes you to a facebook page and I have to say that is very disapointing. :(

Will be interesting to see if how often the magazine comes out or for that matter if it last longer than a couple of issues.

That's Ralph Plarre's garage under the tennis court. Used to see Ralph quite regularly with the Cadillac Lasalle club so I went there a few times many years ago. The garage is a beautiful space. Ralph's a real nice guy too and always made visitors feel more than welcome.

Just been informed by the Editor / Publisher the Magazine is late coming out as they have gone over to a TV Show. Show will appear on the WIN network GO Channel on the 12th of May 2014. The next issue (issue 1-2014 No 11) is also due out about the same time.

Shane Jacobson (from the Movie Kenny and Top Gear Aust) will host the show.

Congrats HOTFR8 for the write up.

Why are your magazines so expensive over there?

OK, Email from the Editor as the show will go to Air here on the WIN network GO 26th May at 7-30 pm. They had a setback with the show. New issue of the magazine is out now.

Apologies for not posting. I have had net access issues on and off for the last few weeks. New times have been in the paper so
GO, 26th @ 7-30 PM.

I have no idea. Could be most of them are imported or the printing costs in Hong Kong :headscrat:confused:

Tech Issues have been due to couple of phone companies that went belly up over night. I doubt your tech team could fix that.

Many places in Victoria have been with out phones (mobile & fixed) fax internet and eftpos. I was lucky I only had net issues and my provider had me back up again after six days.

Back on topic I am told the show should be good. :)

What are your thoughts ? I'm a bit undecided... Really trying to give it a go. The host bloke seems to have no clue, that Shane bloke from the dunny movie seems consistently uncomfortable...

The touchy-feely bits at the end ? Dunno mate... :dunno:

I have to agree with you as it does not get the same credit from me that the Magazine does. A little disappointed with the show. Even heard they had Lou Bandt's Ute out for an up coming show (It is now here in Castlemaine due to Ford shutting the Museum in Geelong) and they filmed them trying to start it only to find it had no fuel. Lou would be rolling in his grave. I watch the show much of the time in disgust. I would allow the Magazine crew to visit me but the TV show :p I doubt it. I did voice my opinion to the Editor and I think personally we will not see another series of Man Space TV.

Compare the shows to Gasolene, Man & Machine and 4WD Pro Tips and the Man Space TV is just not up to scratch.

As for Shane I think he treats it like a joke just like he did with the Aussie version of Top Gear.

Would you say a little crass ? :dunno:

well- yeh. And embarrassing to watch in that I do not watch very much TV . I love Gasolene but , if its on and I am in the house ( = not the shed) then I will watch it if and while it is interesting and then get off the couch and do something more useful when not....

My biggest embarrassment is that I set aside time to sit down for the whole show for the last few Mondays, family all watching too 'cause, heck if dad has reserved the timeslot (many weeks in advance as the screening date kept changeing) and is intent on watching the whole show ... history in the making.... it must be awesome.... I have found myself squirming with embarrassment, fairly consistently, throughout... eekk !!

My comments : don't bounce your batteries get a multimeter like any real man would ! :lol_hitti

Shame, it could have been great....

It could have been a great show but instead it in my opinion has let the magazine down as it is a great read. As I said I doubt we will see series 2.

OK - "update" as it were..

There is little excitement in my life right now ... it is all "work" for the next month or two with overtime expected but no way paid...- you guys know what I mean..

So, I have been tuning into this show every week, despite my initial reservations .. I mean , like , a show about mancaves ??It should be a no brainer.

It is indeed growing on me , I figure if I enjoy 5-10 minutes of it I am ahead..

It might have been the three VB's I chugged as the intro credits rolled on... dunno . but I REALLY REALLY enjoyed the last show.

There , I said it , flame my poor corpse away if you will........

I watched Shane Jacobson with Paul Hogan last night and I had to say that was good. Reminded me that perhaps he (Shane) is just an actor and the Man Space TV show may not be his thing. I did not see it all about Hoges so I hope that is repeated. After watching the Man Space show earlier this week I have to say it has improved. I did like it when they had the visit to the Military vehicles as well as talked more about the place they are filming the show from. I think it is improving and can still get better.

I still believe the Magazine is better than the TV show.
