Ever pull a big block chevy, out of a 1972 dump truck, at a salvage yard. Real muddy here in April, with some snow here and there. Those old cores, make for good HP engine builds.
My Harbor Freight tools clank, in my heavy tote boxes. I plunk the 200 lb. plus boxes, on the muddy ground, you can hear a squish under their wt. as the mud gives way.
I pull out tool by tool, coming off the old fasteners, with GLOBS of grease and dirt, on them. I have an emply tote, that I throw the tools in as I use them. They all clank together, and try to rub the finish off one another.
OOPS!, dropped a socket in the snow, better find it! OOPS! some melted snow is now in the tote, with the greasey tools, oh well. I hear the sand gring between the clanking tools. With the engine on the hook, and in the back of my truck, I'm tired.
The empty tote is now full of greasy, wet, sandy, tools, with thick greasy fingerprints all over them. Later at the shop, I will clean them off and put them in their respective travel box. As I clean the ratchets, I must blow the sand out of the mechanism, before reassembly and re-lube. I need a pick, to get the heavy goo, out of the screws, and socket crevices. Yes I will buy Taiwan tools for this.
You are welcome to come visit me WITH YOUR TOOLS, and we will use them instead. Pulling classic, nickel block, V8's in the yard is FUN.!!!!
I sure am glad they were my Harbor Freight tools, and not my Snap-on/Cornwell ones.
I think you are ok Merkava, but your tool care is over the top, in the hard knock life of tools. There are tools for every occasion. Guess I'll call the Asian ones, the working girls!
