Also known as a handled coffin smoother. I have one by Ohio Tool. 95% it's pre 1930, as most US makers quit selling them around that point. Europe was a bit behind, with some still making woodies today.

Markings will usually be on the front vertical edge, low angle light will help read it. Slight chance the blade was made by someone else if US made. If Europe made, greater chance they won't match.

Oops, just saw you are UK based. Good odds it's a Marples plane, and earlier than these catalogs. I have a 1905 or so catalog, will look when I get home.
