If your restoring a 356 does it really matter what the price is...ya gotta have it....the box could use some TLC

Yeah, if you had an original 356, the tools would be a great compliment and may even come in handy. That's a very complete set for the money though. It may even be a great deal. I haven't seen a kit like that on Ebay before and the Hazet tools usually on Ebay aren't cheap either.

"The Men in Plaid" is what we regular Porsche nuts call the 356 gang. No stigma of low cost in that group. I hang out with some of them from time to time. Good guys and most are real up on the history and are beyond picky when it comes to the cars.

The wooden trays are nice, I wonder if the tools originally arrived wrapped in grease paper and cosmoline.

A very good set, that. I've seen one before that was mint, worth quite a bit in such a condition. The other good thing is that it contains a lot of specialist tools for old (and even some new) VW & Porsche air cooled cars, which cost a fortune to buy, like some of those Snap-ring pliers in the sixth picture.

Definitely worth the current price, and i'm sure quite a lot more.
