A question about epoxy clear coating.

I applied rustoleum 2.5 grey kit from homedepot on my garage about a week ago. Haven't park the car on it yet. The result looks good so far. But it is not as shiny as I hoped. Yesterday, I happened to see lowes has a Quikrete clear coating kit. I'm wondering if I can apply this clear epoxy over my one week old rustoleum coating? I didn't see homedepot sale rustoleum clear coating. That's why I cannot use the same brand epoxy. Don't want to wait any longer to buy on-line.

This is my first time to do this. So bear with me if this is a silly question and my seemingly lack of planning. Any help/suggestion is appreciated.

I would check with the manufacturer, they would know best how to apply their product and when.

I seen the lowes here was selling Rustoleom clear epoxy but it was solvent based. I was wondering if that's a no-no. Its seems weird they'd only sell water based epoxy and only solvent based clear.

I dont know the answer to your question but there is a vast difference between the one part Quickcrete Clear coat and the two part so use caution.

Lowes sold me the one part coating for my two part floor paint and it did not adhere and picked up every tire track. It had to be redone with the two part clearcoat. Call Quickcrete tech support and ask them. Bob

pulled the trigger today. bought the quickcrete clear coating today from lowes and applied this afternoon. Thanks you guys replies. I also called quickcrete support. A lady there said they never tested this combination. So no guarantee. But she saw no reason it won't work as long as the previous coating is water based. When I bought the kit at lowes, the staff there just said it should work. So...

To summarize, I applied rustoleom 2-part epoxy 2.5 car garage kit from homedepot and applied 10 days ago. Then today, I applied the quikrete 2-part epoxy clear coating from lowes. If it does not work, I will post it here to let you guys know.

Started to park the cars in the garage. Had a problem in the first day. Some dirt, could be black tar from a newly repaired road, stuck to the floor. My wife said she heard a peeling sound when she drove off the garage. The good thing is the coating hold pretty well. It peeled the tar from the wheel. Not the coating off the floor. The bad thing is I have difficulty to get the dirt off. I'm not sure what kind of cleaning products I can use on the epoxy floor. Any suggestions?

Castrol makes a water soluble cleaner for grease/oil called Super Clean. Should work just fine. Al W.
