This may have been covered here in the past but I haven't been able to find it: Is is acceptable on this forum to post info on items for sale that are listed on Ebay, Craigslist, etc.? I've been a member on Practical Machinist, mostly on the Antique Machinery Section, for quite a few years and while the practice is permitted, opinions differ sharply between those that feel it is unfair to post and ad since a member may be planning to purchase the item and those that feel it it creates an opportunity for a member to acquire something that may otherwise go un-noticed. Also, I think the practice is prohibited on the VintageMachinery Forum.

Thoughts & Opinions?

I think like anything else, if you do so with moderation, there will not be a problem.

From time to time, I post Craigslist items here hoping that someone can give an old industrial tool a proper new home.

That said, if you come here and spam Ebay auctions and Craigslist postings all day, I'm sure a hammer will be used to fix the issue, and not in a good way.
