It's a great site for a lot of reasons. But the biggest one -- which I think is the reason it continues to tower over any other garage-and-tool-related sites out there -- is the quality of the people who post here. Anyone who's spent much time on other internet forums knows what I'm talking about. The people who post here are genuinely helpful, really interested in the material discussed, and almost always above the kind of baffoonery/jackassery that the internet tends to bring out in a small percentage of the population when you put them in a forum. I don't know why it worked out so well here. But it did.

Plus, Ryan runs the place real well. :)

Ryan, yourself and the mods have done a bang up job (no, I didnt say bang his wife, bang up job). The amount of knowledge and information on this forum is staggering and the members who are ready and willing to help are an added bonus. This is one reason I joined the Alliance, the amount of education I have picked up here is well worth the $50.00 and I will continue to support The Garage Journal as long as it's up. Once again, great job, great site.

I think some of the reasons for the reduced number of deleted threads....

1. Mods are doing an outstanding job
2. The dark side has taken most of the trolls
3. More members who would rather talk about garages and tools
4. I'm spend less time in the FP area.....

Thanks for putting up with us Ryan.....

The wealth of information and the amazing diversity of member's experiences makes this a "go-to" spot to find an answer about just about anything garage/tool/car/etc. related.

It really pains me, however, that there are a few sore-asses that take offense and bother the mods with "reporting" posts or threads that don't quite tickle their fanny the right way, and I miss a great deal of the banned members that I used to converse with and buy tools from.

Plus, I miss Mr. Holeshot... He was a laugh riot, and still posted relevant information. I hope he is in good health, and returns in the very near future. I understand his account was logged into after a period of many months of inactivity, but I don't think any content has been added by him.
