Great deal, thank you.

Perfect timing, I've been trying to talk myself into settling for the HF cabinet but building my own with your kit sounds like a good next project.

Email sent.

Just a heads up.
Some old old track type printers had cabinets around them to deaden the sound.
We picked up four of them for free.
Greatest blast cabinet I ever had.
It took very little time to convert.
Look around. You'll find one somewhere for just about free.
They look just about like that restored cabinet in the post above except they load by the front and the top opening away from you as one door instead of through the side so there is no reason for free standing.
The one in the picture is for a desk top printer. The free stander is as strong as a bast cabinet. Almost all of them have a viewing window like on a blaster.
All the mechanicals needed are available at tpools.com
Good hunting.

I hated working on the daisy wheel printers that a lot of offices had them in. But they did work.

Wow Coop VA- looks better than new. Can you use a current Manual and a set of Skat Blast Labels? (Not available without a picture of old cabinet, which you have posted). If so, just call us at 800-321-9260 and mention Fred's post on the Garage Journal Forum. They will mail the logos, manual and our latest catalog via 1st class mail free of charge. Our Office Manager is aware of this offer if any questions when you call.

Fred

I sure could! I actually just ordered some nozzles and gloves earlier today... I'll give a call on Monday!

Thanks!

This is a mighty nice offer for the crowd here at Garage Journal. When I first saw you post, I was worried about a company spamming the site, but I see now that is not an issue. Welcome to GJ and one day, I hope to make the trip to your facility, even if it is to browse around.

What perfect time to get in on this thread. I am getting ready to refurbish this cabinet that I picked up last year. No name on in that I can see. Its a big beast. It measures 40 wide by 40 deep by 30 high. The cabinet can be opened where the clamps are in the front or with a door on the size. It's way to heavy to open the whole thing and where it's going to be used, I wouldn't work anyway. So I am just going to use the side door.

The cabinet needs a bunch of work. All the seams need to be resealed, needs new gloves, needs a fresh air intake and a vac opening, lighting and glass. I am going to use some ideas I have seen like the LED puck lights that go just below the gloves and a big florescent or more LED lighting on top. Im puzzled on how the glass was held in the cabinet. There are no holes anywhere around the opening where the glass goes. Any ideas?

Well hopefully the TP Tool catalog will have what I need to get this cabinet back up and running. I can't wait to see what they have to offer.

Anyway, here is the only pic I have. It's a big cabinet. Cant wait to use it. Thanks for looking.

Bryan

a lot of people complain about the HF blast cabinets, but maybe the one i've got is different because its a lot older? not sure how the newer ones are but the one i have, me and my dad purchased about 11 years ago, and it never had issues with leaking sand out of weird spots, barely replaced any of the tips. and we did a ton of sandblasting while rebuilding a whole car.

Been thinking about obtaining a large 970 / 976 size cabinet for some upcoming projects. Been weighing the costs of outright purchase versus
building my own. Have easy access to raw metal materials and have a plasma cutter / welder at home. Fred - Your free plan offer is something I want to pursue so I will be contacting TP Tools. Thanks, Don

A+ on the TP Tools offer.

I already own a SB 960Pro which I bought last year after doing all the online research. It's my FAVORITE shop tool.

I have a 960 or a 970, forget which. Used it alot at first, not so much nowdays, but its there when I need it. I have the vac that goes with it, and the caster kit, very useful to move it for cleaning.

My cabinet is a Skat Blast like the one in nohog's post. Mine's not on the company website but I bought it years ago. It was an indispensable tool when I restored my Mustang and friends have used it a lot to restore their own cars. I used it just last month when I cleaned up an old ax head that some scouts found on our last campout.

I have always been glad that I spent a little extra to get the Skat Blast as in all the years I've had it, I've never had a single problem with it.

I added the bottom tray and casters and roll it outside when I clean parts. I hook up an old shop vac that has held up very well considering the dust that the motor is ingesting and I wear a respirator whenever I blast--even outside. Without a dedicated dust collector, you really need to wear a respirator.

On my next project, before I start using the blaster a lot again, I'll invest in a dust collection system. I've always wanted one but I really need to be working on a large project to justify the cost and floor space.

I have a HF cabinet that I upgraded with TP Tools foot pedal and gun.. I also added TP Tools Vacuum system. Very large improvement... Ran silicone caulk on all the joints of the cabinet but still leaks pretty bad... Need to do something different. Thank you Fred for the great offer.
