I just checked the online store and it shows the price of $1399. If I call Debbie to place the order, am I to understand I will be extended a price of $1299? Just want to be clear

Thank you Fred,

C2

Yes $1299 net cost with free carbide nozzle + freight as advertised. (I did not realize that the 960-DLX was on sale on our web site, as it was not on sale in our current sales flyer, which I was was using for reference). Thank you very much, and I just talked to Debbie and she will take care of this. I am semi-retired and work from my home office in the mornings and get a lot more done than all afternoon at work (too many interruptions at work).

We stock every cabinet for quick shipment, and the best thing about our Skat Blast cabinets is that replacement parts are always available from stock. Had you purchased our very first sandblasting cabinet in 1978 and needed some parts, nozzles or anything else today, they are in stock and can be shipped today! (Try that on any of the imports). We also provide plenty of technical help on the spot when you call us, and you don't have to push buttons, wait for extended time on hold, talk to someone out of the U.S. or leave your name and number for a call back. We answer our phones live and have experienced and dedicated employees who want to help when you call.

Re: FREE PLANS to Build Blasting Cabinet EXTENDED to 9/30/15

Found this offer today 9/4 because I just kept reading the posts. Been looking at building or buying something. Looked at a local company today that carries another USA builder of cabinets (will not mention name). It used thicker gauge metal in its build but was only 36" wide. The quote was so high for what you get. About the same as the 970 without shipping. I know I will not regret getting a larger cabinet from TP or building one with their plans. I will be asking for the plans in an email now.

Just wanted to thank Fred and TP Tools for the plans!

I'm in the UK so followed Fred's instructions in post #148. A few hours later and the scanned plans were in my inbox :)

I've only had a quick look through the plans so far, but there are lots of handy tips in there.

Thanks again,

Dan

I know the offer expired, but I called anyway, and the office manager said she thought it had been extended to the end of the year, so she is sending me one. YMMV.

I should note that the Trinco isn't operational yet, since it needs some parts and repairs, and I haven't got an adequate compressor hooked up yet.

Been using a Skat Blast cabinet about 20 years but am ready for a bigger one. I'd like a 970 but would like a set of plans as another option. Thanks a lot for the offer.

Fred,

Many thanks for the great offer. Being from N.E. Ohio (Medina County) originally, I've always wanted a **** blast cabinet. I've used them in the past and have resisted buying any offshore versions. Building my own is, for me, the way to go so I'll be ordering the plans shortly.

Thanks again and I hope to visit your facility next time I'm in Ohio.

I built a blast cabinet in 1985 using the TIP (Skat-Blast) plans and parts. It still works great! I also have their portable 70 lb. sand blast unit that is even older and also works great.

I haven't checked, but has anyone upgraded an older cabinet with LED's to get more light?

Here's another shout out to TP Tools and to FRITZ!

I made this cabinet from TPs plans and pieces almost 8 years ago. I use it a lot, and it does not leak.

I have added a Dust Deputy dust collector between the cabinet and the shop vac. to keep down on the blaster dust entering the vacuum/motor.

I built mine with steel angle iron and 20 gauge steel sheet. Since I was an active aircraft mechanic at the time, I riveted it together with silicone seal in the joints. No leaks.

What perfect time to get in on this thread. I am getting ready to refurbish this cabinet that I picked up last year. No name on in that I can see. Its a big beast. It measures 40 wide by 40 deep by 30 high. The cabinet can be opened where the clamps are in the front or with a door on the size. It's way to heavy to open the whole thing and where it's going to be used, I wouldn't work anyway. So I am just going to use the side door.

The cabinet needs a bunch of work. All the seams need to be resealed, needs new gloves, needs a fresh air intake and a vac opening, lighting and glass. I am going to use some ideas I have seen like the LED puck lights that go just below the gloves and a big florescent or more LED lighting on top. Im puzzled on how the glass was held in the cabinet. There are no holes anywhere around the opening where the glass goes. Any ideas?

Well hopefully the TP Tool catalog will have what I need to get this cabinet back up and running. I can't wait to see what they have to offer.

Anyway, here is the only pic I have. It's a big cabinet. Cant wait to use it. Thanks for looking.

Bryan

I did not see if anyone answered your question about the glass. I beleive they used something similar to a windshield rubber seal with a locking strip that was installed after the glass and rubber seal were in place

As usual for me , a day late and a dollar short. I just found this thread and missed the free plan offer by 3 days. I guess I'll order the plans anyway as I want to replace my cheap Chinese cabinet and $9.95 is still a bargain.

Do they have an email option for the plans or do they only mail them?

Hello Jim, You are not too late - just send an email and we will send out the plans via 1st class mail at no charge! We prefer to mail the plans as we send additional information with the plans (free catalog with many parts that you will be able to use when construction the cabinet).

Just send an email to [email protected] (don't forget your mailing address) and your plans will be shipped the same day. Due to so much response and nice comments, we are increasing this offer for another 3 months until April 1st.

Im looking to buy a blast cabinet and all these glowing reviews of **** blast cabinets has me convinced(the made in the USA part is great too).

Couple of questions.
Is there a difference between the 960 deluxe and the 970? Other than size of coarse. are the mechanicals the same?

What material do you all recommend for Cast iron, Alloy and the odd sheet metal part? I would like to order a couple with the kit.

Im looking at the 970 with the optional Vac 45 W/HEPA filter.

Thanks

Thanks so much for your interest in our Made in USA Cabinets (made in Canfield, Ohio and shipped from our factory in Canfield quickly).

The 970 is a foot wider, bigger tempered glass window, heavier 18 gauge steel vs. 20 gauge. No upgrade to the Vac-45. We sell the 6011-40 upgrade kit for $69.00 and the customer installs. The kit consists of a Hepa cartridge and final filter bag.

Please order by phone 1-800-321-9260 and mention the Garage Journal Forum. When you call, mention that Fred posted this on the forum, and authorized a free 50# bag of First Choice Abrasive (Part # 6710-50) for cast iron and sheet metal. This is in addition to the 50# of Skat Magic that comes with the cabinet for blasting of small parts. Above offer with either the 960-DLX or 970 Cabinet. The difference between the Vac-40 & Vac-45 is only the filter, and you can always change to a HEPA filter later. Our vacuums are relatively quiet, easy to service and you will like them.

We just made a major improvement in the Power Gun that will come with your cabinet. The new gun has an ergonomically friendly handle and pulls more vacuum and provides higher velocity and power than our former gun. This was a huge improvement. Our power guns are all Made in USA by Skat Blast, using our own tooling and molds, and are the latest in technology - far superior to any competitor power guns, most of which are imported.

Down the road, it is very nice to be able to obtain replacement or repair parts. Had you purchased our very first cabinet made in 1978 and needed parts, we have every single part in stock for same-day shipping. (Try that on any imported product).

Thanks to all Garage Journal Forum members - we really enjoy hearing from you! Fred (Fritz).
