A Real Man's Work Bench

Thought you guys might like to see what a "real" work bench looks like. We made two of these for a customer last year and I think they were $5K a piece. Pretty sure we lost money on them but that happens sometimes with accessories if the margin is big enough on the system. They were built with all 1/4" material with the tops being 1" thick. Think we might have used SS for the legs just because we had some extra but not sure. To say they were heavy would be an understatement.

Reading the title I thought it was going to be a workbench piled to the ceiling with junk and stuff that’s not got put back lol .

On a serious note though nice work bench. Love the blue.

Owning several construction companies and a dozen construction yards, I built several of these per construction yard for outdoor work. Usually used a sheet of 1/2" thick steel 4'x 12'. My employees could tear up an anvil using a rubber mallet. At several yards we went to 3/4" plate for the bench top.

That's a beautiful bench. Would hold a lot of my clutter quite well.

So the 10mm gets caught instead of bouncing against the side and hopping over never to be seen again.

Same reason the prison spikes point inwards.

The drip rails are actually an angle fully welded on both sides, low profile most likely so parts and tools don't get caught on them.
