I created an Ultimate Tool Gift Guide over at ToolGuyd - http://toolguyd.com/ultimate-tool-gift-guide/ , and am hoping you guys find it interesting.

So many tool gift guides this year are full of baloney, with either paid-for "recommendations" or gift ideas taken directly from press releases and marketing emails. I wanted ToolGuyd's gift guide to be different.

Some of you will recognize a few of those 50+ tools, but I'm hoping that some of the tools or brands are new to you.

Now, what did I leave out? What would you have added to the list?

The list is amazing. You have a variety of great stuff listed. Could fill anyone's Christmas tool list from there. Thanks for the post.

I see the Craftsman pro vise you have listed on there points to a dead link. Are the rumors true and it's gone now from Sears' lineup?

It's hard to say. The link was also dead when I put it up, but I'm hoping that Sears took down the page temporarily because they ran low in stock and not because the vise was discontinued. Although made in China, it is a very good vise.

I can try checking with Craftsman, but am not hopeful that they'll be able to answer back with anything conclusive.

Thanks Stuey. Hoping it's just a glitch on the Sears website (unimaginable, I know) and they keep that bargain going strong.

First - what a great list of tools - I may spend the next year working this list

As far as the Sears Professional vise. They are very nice for the price and was glad to see it recognized on this list. I am no expert on vises, but as I said, this is a nice vise, especially if you find it on sale for under a $100.00.

I had looked to purchase one late summer - what I realized shortly after finding one of these vises, is there are two different styles. The one picture in the guide is similar in design as the Wilton Bullet vise, this style was the first style manufactured by Sears are are very difficult to find. The newer style is similar in style to the Wilton Mechanics vise, it is more square in style. They are both very nice and in San Diego, you can go into any Sears and find the newer style, or they can order you one to be delivered to the store if they are out of stock. This may be more information than you wanted, but I thought it might be helpful - good luck on your search

Did the new style have the same model number, and was it red? I haven't seen one yet, am curious to see what it looks like.
