A Simonds product that has me stumped

I found this in a tool box I bought at auction. Thought it was a piece of scrap until I tried to cut a piece off. Found it very hard. Then I saw a faint Simonds logo (dating to 1900 or so from the looks of it) etching with a number 18 stamped above it. Google didn't recognize it. So what is it? Any feedback appreciated. Steel is .075" thick

Your picture does not supply depth, but it looks sawblade thin. Here is something in the shape, a Stave Jointer Blade, not sure it’s your victim.

There does not see, to be any tool in this catalog listed as a #18, but I did not do a page by page search, just used the search function. These two thoughts leave me in no man’s land, can’t say it’s definitely either. Other older catalogs seem more likely to be winners than newer ones.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I left out the thickness, it is .075". Bit thick for a saw blade, bit thin for a jointer knife. Anyway, those catalogues look very interesting & I will explore. THanks!

Ah! The spitting image and many thanks. I buy up old toolboxes from tradesmens' estates, and sure enough, every one has a few old keepsakes like this. It's good to save them from the dump
Cheers
