Called Amprobe searching for replacement test leads, advised test leads are part# VL-11R,
Are No Longer Available! Surely someone has stepped-up to supply leads for this worthy tool.

Any suggestion would be helpful

Thanx Red

Doesn't that just use standard 4mm shielded banana jack connectors like most meters? Just grab some Pomona or Probemaster set if so. Silicone jacket wire if you want nice. PVC if you want cheap.

Just make sure you are ordering 4mm and not 2mm minis

https://probemaster.com/dmm-multimeter-test-leads/

https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetai...GAEpiMZZMs4AFwHyzhTm8ttjSfe845B%2BCj8dhHhKxA=

etc.

Generally speaking, any 4mm ones are fine for almost all meters. They make some different styles though.

Edit to note - cheap Ebay test leads will probably work, though I wouldn't want to run much current through them. I think your meter is current only via the clamp, right? The picture on Amprobe's site is tiny... I see 2 jacks which would generally mean no current measurement through those. Though the cheap leads do sometimes fail with a bad connection at either end. So I would personally still buy a $20 lead set and not a $2 Ebay one. And this is a personal preference, but I find PVC wire jackets to be too inflexible and annoying to want to use them.

The best test leads around are made by Pomona which is owned by Fluke. 6530A Automotive set. Buy once, cry once.

The ****-ends are not Banana Style.... the outer plastic has twin tabs, the inner connection is ‘ruff-to-describe’....looks like a metal tab across the opening. I’ll try to send closeup pictures

Thank Red

I continue to be amazed that Amprobe/Fluke has chosen to abandon the RX-3....50 years ago when I started ‘in-the-trade’ a Wigginton/Wiggie was the meter to carry in my side pouch....when a high tech diagnostic was needed the Simpson Meter was the RollsRoyce of VOM’s....then I found how useful and durable an Amprobe could be! 10+ years out of the trade my Amprobe test leads need to be replaced....’Sorry NLA’ is the diagnosis at the end of my quest. A digital Fluke is not in my plans.

Sorry for the no reply.. I've never seen those ends before. I haven't used a whole lot of test gear from before the 80s-90s (went to trade school for electronics - in 1999).

Is that basically a 1/4" male quick connect inside of a wire cap housing?? Maybe it's 5/16"? I have a tough time with getting a sense of scale.

Is that photo from your specific leads, or did you find it online? The reason I ask is that I wonder if yours are missing or if they are broken or what.

If that's your lead, and there is some kind of problem with it, what's the problem? Maybe yours can be fixed or made into adapters. Say the first foot of cable on your leads is ok, but your probes are somehow messed up. Well, cut your leads, and solder or crimp a female banana jack on the other end, and then plug standard probes into that.

Being a little bit nutty myself, I'd also be opening the meter in hopes of discovering that there is plenty of room to just take the stock jacks out and fit some banana jacks right in the meter to modernize that part of it. I don't expect you to be interested in this option, but it's, well, an option.
