A Sprinkler Pump question

I am having issues with Goulds GT-15 sprinker pumps rusting, especially the bases.

I think I have a sprinkler head that may be hitting them. I'll look into that.

But I was wondering, what would be the best think to spray these down with before deploying them for rust inhibition? Rustoleum? Bed Liner? Plasti dip?

I was also thinking of a Thermoplastic Pump like the Flotecs. They have a Nylon reinforced base.

South Florida is kinda brutal on outside pumps!

I started using a plastic cover for mind. The bottom of the cover went down first, then sat the pump on it, the top piece would then fit over the pump and attach to the base. IT did two things for me. Kept the sprinklers from hitting it, and kept it out of direct sunlight. I went from replacing the bearings every other year to getting 5 or more years out of them. The cover was pretty cheap too.

I've got mine in a doghouse now. But I cut some vents on the bottom and meshed them. I think some sprinkler spray may be coming in there.

I would like to prep this mild steel bracket under the pump with something.
