Never happened and I don't plan on it happening. But if someone threatens to shoot me. You neutralize that person. Death threats aren't funny..

These kind of people are like dogs, if they sense fear they'll go all out. Best is to defuse it by being non-confrontational, non threatening but steady calm. These thugs thrive on making other people fear for their life, that's the point of the whole exercise and this way you're showing them they're not gonna get their fix with you.

Wow and I thought I had it tough only 15 miles away from your location, sean what are they puting in the drinking water in Pickerington? sounds like the women lost it ; I am thinking maybe she was stressed over the X-mas season. We get a few nuts over in Cow-town but I am convinced they are from Michigan!

And here I was wondering if maybe Maurice Clarrett had a sister...... :dunno:

What do you mean? just curious i thought it was all agreed that you dont get your gun unless you see theirs first. Idk im just elemenating the situation all togeather and not returning to that udf. And if I do go back im going to a gas pump that they cant ***** about. Ima pull all the way up instead of taking the rear most one with one still infront if that makes sense. What are they gona say then im to far back?

Worst thing that happened to me at the local speedway was I was fueling up before class and a guy came up asking for change. Said something about someone gave him "sticky pennies" I told him I dint have any money, Then he proceded to ask if i would come swipe my card in his gas pump so he could get gas. I was like umm no, He walked off and proceded to yell to a man in the back of the lot "JOE! JOE! IT DIDNT WORK!" Got my gas and went.

But yes something about this end of town is bad. And I dont really want a CCW because I dont think I could every really shoot someone. I think I would lock up. im just glad i got out of there

I think your all correct, lady was crazy, didnt have enough drama in her life, saw a situation where she could start someting and took the chance and almost got her fix, and when she didnt get her way by yelling to tell us to move away and i told her to "calm down" that really fired her up.

I do have a question tho, I know the answer is obvious but i want to see if there is some logic that im missing. There were two cars at this gas station, us and another person. This station has a total of 8 pumps (4 pumps that are double sided) With only 2 cars there that left 6 empty spaces. and with us in one lane and the other car in another that left 2 completely un-used rows of pumps. why not chose one of those if you need tons of space for your piece of **** Chevy impala that probably has a repo out for it.

Question tho, I dont want to shoot anyone if I dont have to I was thinking about getting a revolver with some big rounds but I was thinking about adding a flashlight, here is my logic If I felt threatened and needed to draw it I could turn on the flashlight (would get a very bright one) telling them to back down and allowing me to get away without having to shoot. Or would that just aggravate the situation?

When I was in the military, I was trained to used a light to my advantage. 9 out of 10 times if someone is going to fire, but can't see you for the light, they'll aim at the light. Conversely, if you're raiding a house... in.... say.... Fallujah, the initial shock and awe of the raid will almost always draw a combatant to your light, which tends lends itself to giving you a better possible shot, should you need to take one.

However, when I took my CCW class, my instructor was ex-FBI, and he gave everyone high intensity mini-led light for our keychains. He mentioned a case where someone had used it successfully to more or less blind the would-be attacker's view (since he was behind the light) and prevent what could have been a shootout (attacker was armed).

The moral of the story is that lights CAN be dangerous, but they can help you in times of need. There is no "one size fits all" answer to that question.

It sure stings your pride to walk away from a situation like that, but I've had to do it on several occasions. People can be unreasonable/crazy and when you've been shot at you learn to steer clear of those folks. Had a truck load of dudes rack off a few 22 rounds my way after a mild parking lot argument. Luckily a long rifle was hard to aim from a moving vehicle for them.

As for crazies and crackheads in general, I don't get scared or nervous when people come up to me trying to panhandle (and it happens almost every day). I avoid eye contact which seems to keep most of them from talking to me but once they start their spill, I'm just firm with them and never take my eye off of them.

There's one gas station in Dallas where I fuel up on my way home on occasion. I have NEVER pumped gas there without someone bugging me for change or cigarettes. I'm not a big guy but a little over 6 ft and fairly built so no one has ever gotten too pushy. I did have to educate one guy who just wouldn't stop asking. I do hate it when they tag team you. One will ask for a smoke and when I say no, the other one will ask for change for bus fare, gas, etc. That's happened countless times before and happened not 30 minutes ago.

You did the right thing, you have way more restraint than I do which is a good thing. I have a hot head and a temper which clouds my judgement in an instant. Not a tough guy, just have a temper when it comes to people who are out of line.
