My air compressor motor recently died, so I pulled the compressor into the shop (normally sits outside in a covered shed). It works fine now with a different motor, but I couldn't tell if the power was on or off (switch was not lighted). So I found some LED indicator lights at Graingers, 1/2" od with pigtails, wired a red one to indicate 'plugged in', and a green one to show that it could refill at any time. Works great and I no longer wonder about it's state. Just one of those little projects that seems so hard to get to.

Nice.

I did mine a little differently. Compressor lives in a ventilated closet under the stairs. It is always powered ON, but I do turn a 1/4-turn ball valve to turn off the air to the distribution system. I often forget to turn the valve back off before leaving for the night, so I connected a pressure switch on the back side of the drier/regulator that is just downstream of the ball valve. Wired in a 12 volt wall wart and put an amber trailer marker light at eye level beside the exit. If the light is ON, there's still pressure in the system.

Re: A Tool Enhancement

I tried a "blue pill." This how I keep from rolling out of bed when I am asleep.

I tried the blue pill, didn’t work for me. I got so frustrated, I threw them in the toilet......now the lid stays up!

Bwahahahahahaha!
