A tool I could *really* use

You know what would really be *incredibly* useful? Some stubby double box ends with a square drive hole in the middle. Basically like a pair of 2” torque adapters sharing a common square drive.

There are several times in my automotive work where a tool like this is about the only thing that would work perfectly. Crowsfoot isn’t secure enough on a rusty hex, stubby wrenches have no torque, nano sockets can’t get the drive into the square, flare nut crowfoot is too thick and has poor access.

Almost sounds like he is looking for a crowfoot and torque adapter combined.

So what is wrong with actual torque adapters? Are they not exactly what you are asking for in terms of application?

Nothing really, but for my use case, the double-box like the motion pro type of tool would work better. For one, it would mean much fewer tools to cover the common metric size range, and it would be of greater utility when not using the square drive because a 5” long tool or so might offer some leverage for manual use at times ,whereas a standard 2” torque adapter is essentially useless by hand.

It’s kind of slim pickings for metric torque adapters. Proto SAEs are everywhere, but I’m not seeing their metrics in a set just yet. Sunex makes a full metric set which is likely my only real option short of some gucci tool truck brand.

You need to work your arms at the gym a bit... You should be able to get 8-10 lb\ft of torque with your bare hands....:giggle:
