Hi guys no connection other than a satisfied customer. For those looking to do some deck work and want to go the hidden fastener route I suggest looking at the Camo system. Need to use their screws as well as the "Pro" tool but after completing about 200 sq/ft of a 1,000 deck the tool works great can't say the same for my knees.

I saw Tommy using this tool on This Old House project and it looked like a good concept.

Glad to hear someone has good results with it.

What type of deck material are you using?

Nutjob..
I used the PVC product from Cevn. not the cheapest route but I do not want to do this again. All 20' lengths for what is mostly a 19'8 run I will cut the wild ends off when I finish. the rails will be Deckorators 3/4" baulsters with cedar 2x material frames.

Ok due to so called reverse Global warming my deck project is now under a few inches of snow. Once melted I will be back in biz and take a few pics.. ;-)

I don't like that screw for a couple of reasons. First, it leaves a hole looking up. That will fill with water and dirt no matter that it is small. With wood, this will be a problem. 2nd, the edge of wood is not strong. If you don't really watch the grain, it will just split.

I have used a system called Deckmaster which attaches the decking from the underside, connects to the joists, and the boards are able to be removed at random. The downside is that you have to lean over or work from the underside.
