That's why I have a gym membership. I have 3 families, the "normal" one, the church one, and the gym one. They all fight the futile fight of trying to keep me in line.
Its not the results that matter but the effort that you put into the fight is the reward in and of itself. or something like that!

Its prime She Shed/shack building time better Hop to it and get going on that. Dont matter your big toe is still sporting barbie Band aids and 1 arm in a sling go out there and get-er-done!

Happy Spring/Mud season!

I changed things up. I'm getting little things off the list. Working on the Dave's (the Kubota tractor guy) horse buggy. He wants a BUNCH of little stuff done to it. (pics to follow) After that, I need to get the Old Mule in, then Dad's disc, move the garden fence, then the Girlfriend, then planting season. I'll get to the She Shed after the crops are in the ground.

there's vodka in the water most likley! Or Tequilla!
If there is, it's either weak, or I have a high tolerance.

I tacked together a hitch for the neighbor (Dave) so he can quick throw it onto the bucket of his tractor for moving trailers around the yard. He drives his horse, so wants some changes to fit him and the horse better. First is move the rear of the fenders back to clear the larger wheels he put on it.

Kirk, I would open that file and go to bed. Not remembering all the things I need to get done enables me to try to do something.

Yep. My wife is very much a type A person and loves lists. I am very much not. She's always been bugging me to make a list of things to do. Well I finally did one time and boy, was that a mistake. Seeing everything all together in one spot was just like a huge black hole opened up and sucked away my mental health lol. Kirk I don't know how you can look at that huge spreadsheet and not go crazy lol.

Guys, I have to do it. It's the only way I can keep track of everything I need to get done. It feels really good when I turn things from red or yellow to gray(done). I'd love to retire so I could get the list done before I hit 70.

Anyway, time to get out there and get to work on Dave's cart. Hoping to get it 80% done this weekend.

Last weekend was the State of Michigan Science Olympiad. As usual, Robin and I worked it. Friday night helping with team registration, and Saturday as go-betweens for several events and the command center.SSO 1.jpg

So what does this have to do with garages? We laid out the tape using the techniques I learned from watching guys lay out pinstripes on car. And for those college basketball fans, these pictures were taken in a pratice court at the Breslin Center.

Looks good Kirk, how are you feeling.
Thanks. I go back in next Thursday so the doc can break up the scar tissue.
Very well done!
Thanks. I was nice to do something for him. He's such a super nice guy. Since I can't muscle our mower, he's let me borrow his twice.

I did some repairs to Dad’s disc. Most of the pivots were missing their bushings, so I made up 10 of them. Replacements for the 3 busted colters on the right front gang were ordered. Parts are in, so the disc will come back in to the shop for an evening. It seems like some of the studs are backing out of the gang carriers, but that will have to wait until next winter.dd 2.jpgdd 3.jpgdd 4.jpgdd 5.jpgdd 6.jpgdd 7.jpgdd 8.jpg

LOL.

Hope your getting closer to being back to 100% and full go summer work season is almost right around the corner!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I married up. On the shoulder front, it looks like the shoulder has build up of scar tissue that's restricting my range of motion. Next Thursday the doc is going to manipulate (crack) my shoulder.

I wish I had some time to clean, I'm walking sideways through the shop.

Wow, I think your shop might be cleaner than mine is right now. You definitely have more clear floor space. :(
Notice I said "WAS". The motorcycles were outside for the picture, and I needed the room for the next project.

So the next project is a gantry. I have 2 chainfalls, 2 trolleys, and I'm tried of borrowing my neighbor's tractor every time I have something heavy to unload out of the pickup/trailer.

Pretty lucky lining up the cuts on the channel. I should have gone out and played the lotto.

I guess I used up all of my luck on that one cut.

The Old Mule had no compression in the rear 3 cylinders, and the brakes don’t work at all, so it was time to get everything fixed.
OM 1.jpg

The valves are stuck on the 3 rear cylinders. Still trying to get them freed up. Since the head was off, I decided to use the impact to rotate the assembly while working the valves. BAD MOVE!! Snapped the head off of the crank bolt. The brand new cobalt drill bit wouldn’t even touch it. Called the professional mobile welder, and he came over and reattached the head.

OM 2.jpgOM 3.jpgOM 4.jpg

The left rear hub wouldn’t come off heat and whacking it. So I got out the port-a-power, applied heat, then whacked it opposite the port-a-power. The hub told me it wasn’t happy when it came flying off and tapped me in the knee cap. I’m not sure, but I think the bearing is still usable. What do you think? :lol_hitti
