A great housebound read, so many threads I've missed.. The trim I'm sure was a good feeling on the barn, always feels nice to not have that 'in progress' label on a project.

Glad you enjoy the trip, you must be into pain, lol.

Xtremek
The trim looks great, it's always nice to check one off the list

Thanks guys. I can't wait to finish the window trim.

Good to get an outstanding project out of the way. I must ask though, did I read it right, hang flower box on shop? Lol.

Yeah. I want to add some color to match my new dress.

I think I can shadetree with the best of them. Needed a table saw to cut some smallish pieces for the flower boxes (you know, colors to match my new dress). Not the straightest cuts, but only we will know.

did you put a loop on the rope threw the handle and then run down to a stick on the floor that you could step on to turn the saw on and make your cuts?

that looks about like something I would try and due!

glad there's no followup post about a trip to the ER to reattach a finger or 3!

Kirk, I see your table saw and raise you a stationary belt sander.

And, wow, you must be a pretty big coffee drinker with all those Maxwell House (?) containers.

My grandma used to say, "If you can't ride a horse, ride a mule." I think you and Heine have that down pat!?!

All of that would require too much work, just used the trigger lock. I was channeling my inner Sub. And I said I was a "GOOD" shadetree engineer, so no trips to the ER....................yesterday.

I have that same style sander, except it's a PorterCable. They work great, don't they.

Robin drinks a full pot every day. We may run out of TP, but the earth will come to a halt if she doesn't get her coffee. And I'm a firm believer in the mother of invention thing.

Need pics of the flower boxes.
My wife wants some on her shed, I need expert inspiration

Expert?!?!:headscrat At best I'm a talented hack. But since you asked, here are some pics of the flower boxes. The front follows the angle of the containers I bought I made them a little long so I can pull said containers out, so a box for a 36” container is actually 38”, and there’s a big hole in the bottom for drainage. Used 2” lag bolts to hold them on. I need to build another 36" and put the face on two 24"ers

Yesterday was pretty nice. I'm trying to make a hiking trail through the wild part of our property and the neighbors' on either side of us. No pics, just removing trip hazards, arm snaggers, and noggin bumpers. Also exercised the Old Mule, and pulled out 3 small trees and 2 bushes.

Kirk,
Sounds like you've been busy again.
I could use the Old Mule down my way.
Mrs jon04 wants some bushes in the front of the house removed.

Flower boxes are a nice touch, Kirk. Good to see you're getting more sleep and being productive working from home) or is that "Working at Home?" Besides feeling better, it's got to improve the mental conditioning making some progress on all the projects. Watched the junkyard vid again. Congrats on stardom, and cheap parts acquisitions! Most of the u-pullit yards here have gotten to charge more than buying rebuilt stuff from the box stores. I drool when I see all the youtubers pulling $224 aluminum LS engines and harnesses. Would need to add a zero minimum here for the same part.

I like the flower boxes.

Thanks, I think they'll look even better when there are plants in them.

Thanks again on the boxes. No, it's definitely working from home. I'm still putting in 45-50 hours a week. And yes, for the first time in a long time, I'm not exhausted. I almost feel like a real person. And yeah it was pretty cool to see my wife come up with those folks. I couldn't believe they were crazy enough to be there, the roads were so bad (just the way I like them).

What is going in the flower boxes?

What ever kind of flowers my wife puts in them. Something with color.

It's Michigan. You're allowed 10 of them for medical purposes...

Your're close. My wife wants to start processing hemp for fiber.

looks like it can easily be made into a vertical sander as well or even set at what ever angle you need!

glad to see the Mule getting a little use!

If you noticed, that has a highly adjustable angle on Bob's sander. Unfortunately, the tabler saw doesn't lend itself to that.:( Yeah, with the amount of snow we got this year, the old girl hasn't gotten much use. If the country opens up again (I'm in no rush), I hope she can start moving crshed concrete in the driveway.

I haven't been sitting around during my off time. BIG milestone reached, The core support is now welded onto the front of the S'crew. I also finished a project I started for my mother....2 years ago. It was a bead rolling exercise using scrap copper I had. For putting a flower pot in. And finally, I almost finished the window trim. Need to finish one flower box, and get enough wood to finish the last half of a window. Then caulk, second coat, and I'm done. I painted the entry door jam/trim, but it's a hack job, as I want to replace the entire door.

Since my wife wants to get into hemp processing, we're going to have to put the dump truck into service as a semi permanent fixture in the fleet. I can't have it looking bad, so I decided to clean up the rear a little. Pulled the left side frame connector for the hitch and found that the Michigan termites had done major damage to the truck frame. More vertical welding practice.

On another note, as a birthday gift to myself, I bought 3 of these miniature Radio Flyer wagons. The truck came with a set of WeldWheel DragStars as an option. Now all I need is some brass stock.

Oh man, lots of good ole Michigan weight reduction on that frame. You’re gonna be such a great welder after all this practice!

Yeah, I wasn't surprised. The actual hitch itself is pretty cool. You can unlatch it, and it extends and pivots. REALLY heavy duty. Just too bad the termites were super hungry.

Made it to post 200. Now Heath wants to wrestle, so time to go toss him around a bit.

I like the reuse philosophy. Most of the time if I need something I can dig through the scrap pile and come up with something usable. it is also the reason why I have trouble throwing things away. Fancy people call it upcycling, I call iot being to tight to pay for every little thing.

We are going to have to move next year because a lithium company is buying up all the land for a mine. About 300 yards behind my property is a huge deposit, at least we are getting a large chunk of change, but all of the neighbors say the same thing, they don't want to move. We have built a nice little community up in the last several years out here in the middle of nowhere. The local drunk got sobered up, the kid who was on drugs got clean, and we all watch out for each other. It is nice. My kids have all the "grandparents" any one could ever want, even though both of our real families are 500 miles away in opposite directions (and almost far enough away). I hope we can have that again.

I've lived in all kinds of areas, and at least half the battle is you.The burbs were the least friendly, the country the most and the big city about half way in between, but I hear you. Good neighbors make life so much better.

Did I hear good neighbors
I have the best neighbors in the world we are close and share everything. I had to pickup 188 landscape blocks today and needed a trailer the neighbor said the key is in my Dodge flatbed just take it and dont fight Chattanooga traffic with a trailer. Good neighbors are a godsend.
Sorry I'll be quiet now.
Xtremek how did the flower boxes come out. I need to build some for my wife's shed.

That's the same kind of neighbors I have. Pics of everything with 1st coat of paint coming soon.

I need to get all caught up on what you have been up to?

Hemp processing?

what it all involved with that?

SWMBO wants to process the fibres. First you let it rot a little, then run it through a hammermill, then chemically treat it, then separate the fibres. She seems to be cooling off to it, which doesn't hurt my feelings. I looks like a ton of work.

On the black f-150 front, all of the core support sheetmetal is done. I had to unbolt the front cab mounts so I could squeeze the support mounts in. I was worried the bolts would break off, but I got lucky

To the question of flower boxes, my better half planted the flowers in them over the holiday. I finished installing the trim on the Duck Haus and putting the first coat of paint on it.

I finally got the top row of fencing on my wife's garden and got it tilled. Another side project is putting in a hiking trail around our properties (ours and the neighbors on both sides). First section around the pond is done. It should be about 3/4 of a mile.

And I did a couple of small side projects. I finished a project I started for my mom 2 years ago. It's to put flower pots in.

I have never been able to leave well, so not even toys are above being altered. 4x4 radio flyer anyone? How about a slammed COE?
