........The worst job that I know of is the guy that fixes the trash trucks.......... Just crawl under there and tighten that bolt......... NOPE! :puke:

You got that right Strouty, my buddy worked at an International dealership back in the day. Someone left a trash truck inside overnight, three stalls were covered in maggots, they got in everything.

I've known some heavy equipment/truck mechanics and heard some stories. They don't pay enough for me to even open my toolbox for one of those jobs. Maggots, mice, and rats. I'll pass.

The garden cart has one good tire. I'll hold for you until you get here on Friday. I'm running late. You're very nice to hold it for me so long, ha. We are hoping to visit my Wife's family in Mi this spring but not sure when. Dont wait on me. Jim

Anything for a fellow GJ're. I didn't get to the scrap yard, so it's still waiting for you, until Monday afternoon.

No offense meant. It's honest work. And I've never meant a scrapper who wasn't nice (I've known 3 or 4 of them). But it's dirty, hard work. Nope, I'll pass.

It beats having a boss.

Careful you might get canceled for being a scrapper bigot!!! ;)

Cancel everything!

I saw a roadside repair guy wearing a full hazmat suit in August while laying under a broken garbage truck. I felt sorry for him. Although you should have seen one of the stoves I got out of the apartment complex yesterday. It was oozing some unknown substance. Jared was not wearing gloves even though I told him to put them on. It didn't take long for him to regret his decision.

I became one with the chainsaw the past weekend. Cleared the area for my wife's addition to the shop. My body told me that I'm not 50 any more. in the fourth pic you see the Old Mule sitting out in the weeds, pulling a tree over, this one was leaning heavily toward the shop. Still need to clear the area Robin's going to use as a test plot for growing processing samples of hemp.

Oddly enough that's one thing I miss sometimes is running a chainsaw. I have no idea why lol.

What will you be using the hemp for?

Looks like you made good progress on it, now is her side going to be bigger than your side???

Personally I have a hatred of sawdust, when I was a kid I used to work in one of those "forced family labor camps" and one of the things we did was help Dad with the sawmill. Sawdust would be everywhere, kind of like beach sand, it is never fun to have sand in your underwear, but sawdust is even worse. :(

My wife wants to get into processing it for fabric or maybe paper. She's not 100% sure yet.

Dejavu, looks just like what I did last week.
There is something satisfying about running a chainsaw, I think it has something to do with not being able to think about anything else while you are cutting.

Kirk,
Like the guys that posted above me I love running a chain saw.
Mrsjon04 calls me the butcher of Niles though!

You guys can have it. In fact, if you want, two Saturdays from now (the 27th), you're more than welcome to drop by the Hack Shack/Princess Palace and drop about 15-20 more.

I'm sort of with you, Strouty. I'd rather get it to handleable lengths, than cut and split it to stove/fireplace size. I used to be decent with a splitting maul, but now I'd just make kindling. In the end, I'd pass on all of it, if I could.

Current shop is 30'x 40'. Her side will be 42'x 40', but it'll get the Old Mule and implements out of the weather. The vehicles will still have to sit outside.

A couple of weeks ago I started to pull the trans out of Smooth to uncover an electrical connection I missed when I put the motor in. No surprise that the crossmember was beat up pretty bad. I mean 15+ years (+175k) as a static lowered, year round DD, truck in Michigan is bound to be hard on a vehicle. Some persuasion with a BFH and the blue flame wrench got it close enough for this truck. FWIW, that's the power feed for the 2 amps that was squished as well

With 18 year old paint on the body, you are right.

When I finally get it to my daughter, it won't be as a DD, so MAYBE it'll last her.

I read the first part wrong, it sounded like you were talking about an 18 year old's body, but then when you said something about your daughter, I realized I was just becoming a dirty old man...........

Sorry in advance.......

Man!

A lot has gone on here since I was last paying attention! Glad to see lots of new things going on.

Can't believe I missed a COE showing up. I only had time to go back a couple pages...I'll read more later.

you need to make a saw holder for on the back if your gonna be land clearing with the old girl!

I have about 15 more trees to drop (1 days worth of work) and then I hope I done with the serial killing of trees. BTW, when are you dropping by to get this wood?

The more I read this, the funnier it gets. Maybe I'm just tired.

That's what happens when you have priorities like kids. Don't worry you didn't miss anything supper important, just some stupid shenanigans of an old man.

Good job on the trans crossmember.

Thanks.

I'm so proud of myself. No one knows how to show a woman such a good time like I do. I mean what woman wouldn't want to spend 2 1/2 hours on a Friday night shredding brush? I'm such a romantic.

Stump grinder was my government treat to me with last years check.
Brush gets burned or if conditions are unfavorable, hauled to the town brush pile for them to chip. Some fool was burning in the wind on Monday and got a visit from the cops and fire department when he started a grass fire.

Sounds like a great Friday night to me.

Considering I didn't wake up in pain, I'd call it decent.

Oh I could have some fun with a chipper like that lol. Rental?

You must have a completely different idea of fun than I do. Yeah, from Sunbelt.

Pat is jealous now, She said you never rented me a chipper!
She almost convinced me to buy her a stump grinder once.

When the guy at the rental place told her the chipper had a 12" inlet, she looked at me and said "that's nothing like what you told me".

Normally we have a brush pile we throw junk like that on and just let it rot, but Robin wants to put the chips down between the raised beds in her garden.

Have you seen Fargo?

If a certain new neighbor or a pair of twins end up missing, I wasn't in town that weekend. I have an alibi. And I paid good money for it, so it better hold up.

"I think her tractor's ****". What can I say, I'm such a high brow romantic. Anyway, we started clearing the field where Robin is going to plant industrial hemp.

Our field is about 1/2 an acre and we have a neighbor who's going to let us use a 1/2 acre plot as well. This is mostly to understand how to process it, which is what she really wants to do.
