Definitely rags to riches. Saturdays forecast is for 1.75". Suddenly we will end June above average after being -3" all month.

Good thing I've been saving up indoor things to do while concentrating on outdoor all month.

X, keep your eyes peeled on homedepot.com, they will have great deals, usually you can get free batteries or free tools. Also if you are financially savvy, they have a rip off credit card, but they offer “no financing” deals all the time if you use the card and spend a certain amount. We actually buy gift cards to get us over the amount required, we spend a lot of money and NEVER pay any interest, EVER! I even do that at Lowe’s, I buy Amazon gift cards and then get 45 days to pay without any interest.

Where you in that spot that got dumped on Kirk? Theres a pocket of southern Ontario, straight east of Detroit, that got between 6-9" friday night. Seeing lots of pics of flooded fields. And then yesterday a couple of tornadoes north of here. :eyecrazy:

I'll have to check out "hd.com". The temptation of another credit card is too much, so I'll pass on that. My Mom has always had multiple credit cards, and in the past bit her in the ****.

We missed the huge rain that parts of SE Michigan got, but we still got over 1 1/2" (~40mm). Friend's lost at least one field of soybeans due to flooding. But nothing like what the Detroit/Windsor folks got.

!.75" forecast turned out to be 2.25" over the weekend. So about 4" since Thursday morning.
Starts up again tonight until Thursday, I hope we dodge some of the thunderstorms.

We got another 1/2" last night, and supposed to get another 1/4" today. That's 11 of the last 12 days. I haven't been able to mow my lawn since we left for vacation on the 13th. Talk about a total mess. I might use Robin's sickle mower on the yard. Maybe bale it too. I'm thinking I could get 2500 bales off of it. :lol_hitti Looks like tomorrow will be the first chance I get to mow.

Kirk, grab the M12 soldering iron when you see it. It's the only red tool in my fleet currently but it's awesome. Will be handy for all that truck and trailer wiring you need to do.

I agree, that soldering iron works very well. I use it even at the bench for most things.

Hope you don't need a boat after all the rain......

A cordless soldering iron? That might be worth getting, as long as I can find a battery adapter.

I feel like if your lawn is getting that long, that it may warrant a new machine to tackle it??? :bounce:

Won't be the first time I've had to mow with it at the highest setting, then again the next day at the normal setting. Hay field indeed.

Unfortunately, the Bunton has a fixed deck height.

And as far as farm animals go, NNNOOOOOOO. And just in case I stuttered, Hell No. But to make sure we're clear, OH HELL NO!!!!. I did the animals things when I was a kid, and it was a great experience, but a ton a work, that I don't have time for.

I had that same experience as a kid, Dad had horses and hay bailing equipment. Did I say I hate horses. Goats take care of them self and you shouldn't put your car in the pasture or they will head **** there reflection in the paint.

We had horses, chickens, a couple of beef steers, and Dad raised feeder pigs. As a teachers kid living in the country, we put up hay for a couple of farmers. Learned the value of good, clean, hard work, had lots of crazy adventures, and learned a lot of life lessons. I loved it. But it's a **** ton of work, and you're basically married to the critters.

Steph wants goats when we move. I am weighing how good they taste versus the trouble they cause.

If I were to get animals, I'd get barn cats. Feed them once a day and you're done. Cleaning up after any thing else is too much like dirty work. I refuse to clean the duck house. And I knew no else would want to. That's why I had the cement guys put the floor a foot below the top of the foundation wall, and put a cement divider across for the ducks area. Yep, cleaning manure *****.

What dose the hemp crop look like,

Kinda like this.flatten.jpg

In my dreams. Sorry I've neglected my own thread, but it's been WOT for the last 3-4 weeks trying to get the Girlfriend ready to take the travel trailer to Indiana at the end of the month, while able to use the gooseneck. The hemp is FREAKING tall. The stuff we planted at the neighbor's house averages about 6'-7 tall as of Tuesday. Our field is inconsistent, with some of it only 5', but others closing in on 9'. I think if she had fertilized it when she planted, everything would be over 9' by now. I'll post pictures this afternoon,......................I hope.

Not that we don’t trust you……..

I wouldn't trust me either.

Ah GJ, the one site on the internet where you can ask a guy for pics of him working on his girlfriend and no ones bats an eye. :lol_hitti

I spend more on her than I do my wife. Wait, this is my wife's truck, so does that mean I'm actually spending the money on my wife?

I’ve been working on making the GF more usable as a dump truck, so I rebuilt the tailgate and put on new hinge points. I also added chain links to the sides of the box for the safety chains to the goose neck trailer. pivot.jpgchain latch 2.jpgsafety chain loops.jpg

All of that rust/mud came out of the old tailgate frame when I cut it a part.

That looks like a nice F150… couldn’t have been driven in too many Michigan winters.
I always liked the body style from that era.

It has about 180k on the odo and was my dd for 10-15 years, including those winters. The rockers are kind of soft, but we're going to get it running and grooving first. Then the COE, then back to it.

Wanna race to see who gets their baby running first? Perk 2.0, or the Old Dawg? Loser has to take a road trip to the other guy's shop where the winner buys dinner for loser and his significant other. Just don't tell my wife if we make this bet, she'll sabotage my projects. She loves Maine.

I ran across a hemp farm the other day on the way to Murphey, I want to go back and check it out when I have time.

Was it for CBD or Industrial? If it's industrial, I'd love it if you got some contact info.

That would be fun regardless of who wins.

It really would be. I keep telling everyone we live in the best place in the world. out in the middle of nowhere, but close to everything and everywhere. And Robin keeps telling me how incredible Maine is.
The slowest race in history.

You're not just whistlin' Dixie there.
