Got a place for you strouty!
Kirk I'll go back up there in a few days and find out what they do. I'm thinking industrial I dont remember any CBS signs and that area is full of the (live off the land types) here we call them River Rats. It's right before Turtletown.

Because our plots are small, we'll use a sickle mower to cut it down. We have about an acre. I think that would work up to about 20 acres. The neighbor down the street said he's willing to bale it for a reasonable fee. He has a baler that is used for silage that is hopefully strong enough to handle the hemp.

You run it through a hammer mill to separate the different types of fibers, then you can make different things like rope, fabric, paper, filler in plastic or concrete.

How do you go about having a hemp farm? I must have missed the start of this story, and if so, I apologize. There's got to be a way to validate your crop. In my imagination I can see a sheriff's deputy driving down the road one evening and upon seeing your plot, imagining he's just made a big case. "WIth a street value of $1.3 million, this is the largest marijuana bust in a decade."

Robin, alias SWMBO, wants to get into processing industrial hemp. She needs stock to use for setting up the system, so we're growing hemp. We had to get finger printed and those were sent to the FBI. We had to register (and pay a yearly licensing fee) with the state and give them the GPS coordinates of the fields we planted. We also have to put up signage at the fields. When it's close to time for harvest, they come out and take 3 samples from each field to see if it exceeds the 0.3 THC limit (if it's hotter than that, they burn the field). We also have to pay a yearly licensing fee to process it.
Looks like you are going to have a high yield. See what I did there.

I'll see myself out.

You two comedians need to get down off your high horses and get back to your day jobs. Ok, that was even lamer (is that even a word?) Than Uncle Willie's attempt.

Still playing catch up, so I’ll jump to last night. Robin has started laying out the footprint for the shop, which meant we lost most of our parking. So after dinner last night, I started carving out a spot to park. Still will need to expand it. Kind of tough when you have like 7 vehicles, 3 trailers, and a bunch of farm equipment. (I know, nothing compared to Uncle Willie or Strouty)

or Kev.

When's that camping trip due to happen? I vaguely remember an Indiana agenda or something like that.

Sometime middle of next week. Might end up being a day trip now. I think the GF has a blown headgasket. Dropping the f-150 gas tank tonight. If I can just figure out the tank connections. I think they're a lever lock of some sort, not the round spring deal.

Ugh. I have to do a head gasket on my '85 K5 before snow myself. Even though I'm actually pretty good at stabbing a distributor back in correctly, I still hate that part of it the most.

Maybe spring for a hotel overnite?

I am considering a parking garage.

I keep borrowing the neighbor’s Kubota so I made this little drop on hitch for his bucket at his request. Welds aren’t the greatest, but it withstood the stress test of him trying to lift his 30’ gooseneck horse trailer, and then not having the ball clear of the hitch when he backed up.

As you know, I did rear brakes on the Girlfriend a few weeks back. First trip out was to a local camp ground about 14 miles away. As we’re leaving the campgrounds, I hear ugly noises coming from the driver’s rear. As I turn my head for a better listen, I see my new Milwaukee impact bounce down the road. It didn’t survive, but the battery did. Got home a found this. When I finished the brakes the first time, I put about an extra ½ to 1 pint in the rear end. Guess it wasn’t enough. It had welded the inner race to the snout and put some nicks in the seal surface. Cleaned it up and reassembled. This time I ran a line of lube down the axle to help with the whicking. Test run of 26 miles pulling the travel trailer to another campgrounds showed no issues.

Now I have spare parts. My wife and mom both told me to see if it's under warranty, but I just can't do that for something that the tool obviously isn't designed for. I'm just surprised the battery is fine electrically (it shows a quite a few road rash scars).

You're very funny. Getting my daughter's truck up and running, and my wife's business on its feet should hopefully be done by the end of fall. After that, I HOPE it's my turn.

I hope those people appreciate all this work you do for them and how many other things you aren't getting to as a result.

They do. When my daughter's truck is presentable, (not done, it gets air ride after the '52 is done) we plan on using it to take trips and take it to car shows.

In the Navy I learned Never Again Volunteer Yourself...........now my wife volunteers me:(

Chris, now you get voluntold by your wife......................says the man who is going to help put up a 40'x60' shop.
