Did a front wheel bearing on the Sonic. I had to turn down my 36mm socket to fit inside the hub flange. When I tried push the half shaft through, it wouldn't clear the hub. After 20 minutes of fussing I was able to get 2 threads clear. I tried to pull it through, but it ended up just stripping out the shaft. That was Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon was about replacing the radiator in the Orphan. She blew it out last Sunday on the drive into Detroit to see the VanGogh Experience. Everything was going good until I got to the trans lines. 3 hours later, I brutally removed it. The install was without any real drama.

Out of respect to my friend who’s name shall not be mentioned (cough, Shorty, cough) I post this pic. The Old Man had a screen hanging out of the corner of his pickup box. I told him he had to clean the puddle of blood I left on his garage floor.

I agree with Craig any injury is bad but near the eyes is especially frightening.

Chris, that was after the clean up. Like most facial injuries, this one bled like CRAZY. Thinking back, I'm really glad I wear glasses, they probably helped my reflexes a little.

Is your lathe a Myford?

No, just an old Craftsman. I don't get to use it near as much as I want.

Well that was a boondoggle. I left early this morning. Actually left 3 times (I better go back and grab some cash,....did I leave the water running after taking care of the ducks?) and drove to Peru Indiana (Robin and the girls have been camping nearby). The people we were supposed to meet (for Robin's hemp thing) backed out. Back home so I can get a few hours in on her trailer. The moral of the story? I'd rather step up to the plate with very little chance at hitting the ball, than to sit on the bench. "Would you look at that stance, do you think he's injured,.......or constipated?" Anyway, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

Robin’s been gone for the past few days. Tonight haute cuisine is summer squash ala Butthead MaGoo. I may not be a chef, but it passed as edible.

No repeats on the squash, looks like it's finished for the summer (I know, lame joke), and my wimpy taste buds will pass of the peppers. Yes, it was all I had for dinner, but it was a big plate full.

It just got real. Trusses delivered yesterday, everything else (but the big doors) today. Got to admit not looking forward horsing the posts and trusses into place. But I’m not afraid of a challenge. And this will be a big one.

Kirk, before you even try wrestling those posts by hand do your body a big favour and put a boom on the 3 point hitch of the old mule. My grandfather built his shop/shed on the farm that way. He used an old telephone pole with a hydraulic winch and some weight on the front of the tractor. He lifted all the lumber that way, even the trusses.
