One quick note, the Girlfriend seems to be running better and better the more I use her. She is sipping some coolant, so I'm going to retorque the head bolts. I really can’t abide with a habitual drinker, so if a retorque of the heads doesn’t cure the drinking, someone recommended Red Devil stop leak.

Finally got time for another update. That new TikTok thing, “Going to do some sketchy ****…” came to mind when I was working the “big” stump hole. If you look closely, that’s a 4’-5’ drop into the hole. The other side was just as close. Then I had to ease up to the edge of the hole to drop in these slabs to fill. Been getting chunks from wherever I can. These came from the neighbor who we’re renting the mini-excavator from.

Since we cut down all of those trees, I hated to see the firewood go to waste. So I gave it to some friends who have a wood boiler furnace. This is a 16’ long trailer. He took out 3 loads that were all about this full. He thinks he’ll get 2 -2½ full cord out of this.

Been picking away at the F-150. Got the brake lines replaced. I used CuNi and pretty proud of how good they turned out. I do have a gripe. Fittings at the calipers and the rear axle flex line are all standard double inverted flares. There’s a factory joint half way back the truck, and it’s a bubble flare. REALLY FORD!?!??!??!?!? WTF?

This area is where the last of the berm used to be. It had a stump on top of it that rotted enough that the neighbor came a took it away back in August. Finally got around to planting seed. There’s going to be a ton more grass planting, among other types of flora. Anyone know where I can get a few hundred pounds of grass seed?

The carb inlet fitting (long paper filter) on the GF had a small leak, so I stole it off of Unc’s ’73 Quardra Junk- (short paper). Long paper filter still fits. I also found another vacuum leak through the choke body. Grabbed a piece of plexi and no more leak.

Thanks Jon, it's finally starting to show some progress. I highly doubt it'll start when it's truly cold. As it is, I have to pump the living daylights out of the gas pedal. I'll get it fixed over the winter. What kind of carb are you running?

If a retorque dosnt solve the problem try some type of liquid glass. I've had good luck with it. I haven't used this specific brand but saw it on amazon.

Good luck with it. I still need to look at my superduty I'm hoping it's just bad valve cover gaskets that are leaking.

So now that she’s running DECENT (not quite right though), I upped the Girlfriend’s work load. That’s 3 yards of very wet crushed concrete. She’s hauled 14 loads so far into the driveway. The neighbor owns the local cement plant and sells crushed concrete. The guy told me he had 20yards left. Guess he was off just a touch. Anyway, I filled in the potholes in the driveway and the drive expansion. Still need to put a crown on most of the driveway. In the end, I’m guessing we could have used 300-400 yds to complete the drive expansion and parking lot project.

Our old neighbor works for AIS equipment as a painter, so I got some rims for the Girlfriend blasted, sealed, and painted. This is the paint they use on heavy construction equipment. Some of the wheels had some heavy pitting, but they’re good enough for what it’s for, and I won’t ever have to worry about rust on them.

Check with a local farm supply company, they should have bulk grass seed. I know here I can get 55lb bags of grass seed no problem.

She'll look better, but she'll never look as good as a certain Vega or Solstice. Then again, I doubt they'll ever work as hard. But the vision for this truck is a decent looking work truck, something that will never be enough for a car show, but good enough to be respectable.

When I get everything prepped, I'm guessing I'll seeding an area about the size of a normal city yard, maybe even twice that. And yes, the Girlfriend was always on the suspension stops. The bottom of the bumper was less than 12" from the ground.

Well if your anything like most farmers around here I'd say your hauling off scrap while the price is high so you can get that old fencerow cleaned up. Cleaned up enough that it looks like a really nice place to put that next piece of something that you might need for a spare part in 20 years.

Honestly though I haven't got a clue. Looks like parts to a few different pieces of equipment in there.

I have had K&W engine seal in the F150 for several months now. Head gaskets were going to run $3000 engine seal was under $10.

Yep, it's a no brainer.
I just wish they made one for valve cover gaskets, my injector wiring runs through mine, they say it's an all day job to change them
