Well that was a bust, literally. We went to pickup Robin's new toy and it bent the goose neck trailer in half. I'll post pics later today. So we either have to find someone to haul it for us, or my upgrades to the trailer just got pulled WAY ahead.

And HJ, my vision is for a hot rod dump truck, but this has absolutely nothing to do with that. This is strictly to help establish Robin's business.

One a more mundane note, a couple of weeks ago, Robin bought this hay crimper. I think we need 2 or 3 more of these ganged in series to make her decorticator. It's going to need a pretty big electric motor to turn them

As promised, and on time, here are pics of the damage. I kind of wondered if the trailer would handle the weight I wanted to put on it. Guess not. Looks like I have another item on my to-do list now.

Yeah, probably sometime next spring. My original plan was to add a 3rd axle, a 6' dovetail, ramps, and upgrade the current axles to 9k. Guess that happens sooner than later.

Gotcha. All I need off of the hay crimper is the rollers. I'll put them in series and that should break the fibers down far enough to be usable.

Probably not until early spring. Definitely not until Robin's She Shed, and the F-150 S'crew are in some sense of usability. When it get it repaired, it'll have a bunch of upgrades. Not dinking around with it after that.

My oldest 4½” grinder started giving me fits, the cord shorting out. No big, the cord is now 4” shorter.

So time to unwrap the mystery. We can’t find anyone to strip the topsoil off the build site/parking lot, so Robin went and bought…………….a pair of bulldozers, 1948 CleTracs. The gooseneck handled the organ donor with no issues. But when the tracks on Claudia just hit the edge of the deck, it folded like a piece of paper. Scrambled to find an alternative way to get it home. McAlister’s Rental for a 12-14k trailer was the answer. Now I just have to get it so the Girlfriend quits drinking coolant (the retorque of the heads didn’t solve the issue).

The orange one is a pretty decent machine, if we can just figure out how to use it the way we need to. And I'll be honest, I'd love to have the time to strip the yellow one and have it gone.

Actually trailered really well. It just looks bad because the passenger side rear is sitting in a shallow spot. When we loaded it, we moved it forward until the back end of the truck dropped about an inch or two. I'd rather have the truck nose light, than the trailer.

Without sounding too nosy how much are a couple of 1948 dozers go for in your slice of heaven, pm me if you don't want to tell the world.
I believe the D9 would have got the job done as well....

the Local Tow company used to load up 2-3 junk cars on his flat bed and then 1 on the back wheel lift. F350 with roll back. Story goes you let off the gas and then did your steering on the trip to the junk yard which was 30 miles away.

It’s that time of the year, Box Elder bug season. They’re very benign, and have absolutely no fear. They will literally walk all over you, until you either squash them, or fling them off. When you fling them off, they usually go about a foot before they take wing.

When I was in Aurora the building I worked in was white and the east side was about 300 ft. long, I've seen hundreds of thousands of the box elder bugs cover that wall. You are right they will crawl all over you. You learn to keep your mouth closed around them.

I had one little ****** get in my earmuffs. Kept taking them off and he'd climb inside so I couldn't see him. Three times I tried to shake him out, before I finally got out. Kept climbing into my ear.
