are you talking about papaws wrench?

if so you must have a hotmail address. those were banned due to spammers, most of which have hotmail addresses. he is a member here so send him a PM, he can fix it for you. his username here is papawswrench.

I have responded to your message, and apologize for the problem. We can fix it. I personally see every new application and cannot recall yours. This might mean that your email account is invalid or suspect, or who knows what. PM me here, or email me at [email protected] .
Tool Talk (like many other sites) has had a large number of spammers attempting to get in, and it is tough trying to keep them out.

Re: a weird question about another site.

On a webmaster forum that I frequent, they say that the largest amount of spammers are now coming in with gmail address's. Seems that it is becoming more difficult to stay one step ahead of the spammers. I moderate every new members personally, so that keeps them from completing the registration, however, the bots are getting more clever to get around the hurdles that have been put in place to keep them out. Last night I counted over 30 from Russia trying to register or log in. Its a jungle out there...

Yes, the Russian spammers are getting better at what they do. I have been able to keep them out so far. riley.m's address is a Gmail address, but they have not been banned on Tool Talk. I am pretty sure I have fixed it so he can log in now. I have added him as a member.

The ********* spammers are from the eastern block countries and main land china those dummies use fixed IP and fake e-mail address one other filter you can use to ID them is they use long string passwords usually 2 less then full capacity.
