No damage to the box; Looks like a ham-fist "mechanic" did this and returned it. Although, I could understand possible defective manufacture of the jaw.

But why sell it as "Condition: Used - Like New"

We'll see how AllTrade's warranty works out. If not, and I can't find jaws for reasonable, back to Amazon it goes.

I wish I hadn't lent out my SK puller like this.

You just email amazon and tell them you are unsatisfied and need a non broken tool immediately.

I bought a random large socket should have been a certain size and it was clearly marked smaller on the socket emailed them about it and they refunded my money for the wrong one and sent me the new one. Handled it like it should have been handled no doubt.

The amazon warehouse deals I am guessing is just random people looking at stuff they don't have a clue about. If that broken piece was in the box I could understand them seeing it was broken but the person that looked at it probably has no idea it was missing something broken off.

You do not need to send an e mail. Go to you account find the order, see the return box, follow the direction, print out a return shipping label and drop it at the UPS store. Takes all of 5 mins, less driving time to ups.

Yep, and check the options for return postage... sometimes they give you a HUGE amount to ship it back yourself. I got a "busted" online code for one of my college courses and returned it, they gave me something like $15 in return shipping credit... I stuck it in a manila envelope with 3 stamps.

Only bummer is they'll usually only refund your "Used- Like New" and you buy another, meaning if they don't have another available, you're stuck buying it new. Happened to me with a set of Brembo rotors from my truck. One arrived with a cheap imported Vatozone special taped up in a Brembo box. They didn't have another to send me, so I was stuck taking my refund (for like $35) and paying $75 for one locally to get my truck off the jackstands.

I poked around trying to find jaws that would work. One "looks like" result found that Bosch (owner of OTC now apparently) says jaws for OTC 4422 are n/a.

I went through a few bad email addresses for Alltrade. Then called them and a pair of "fingers" are on the way for $6.** shipped. For the overall price of this 648619 at ~$15, I can't complain.

If this one breaks again, I'd say it's time to upgrade to an OTC 7318 which has available replacement jaws 29185.

So, Amazon warehouse deals have been okay thus far.
