Hi all from Australia,

I have a basic size double car garage (5mtrsX5mtrs).
I have lived in my house for 10 years.
My wife and I have done a lot to the interior of to house and left the garage till the very end.
Since joining Garage Journal I have been inspired by a few garages and sheds and the detail you all go to.
I thought it would be my turn to share.
I will start at the beginning with my garage and also include my shed later on.
We didn't like the plain brick walls so the decision was to paint them. This is one job I will never do again.
As you can see in the photos the garage floor was painted with paving paint from the previous owners and has not lasted.
More to come.

Next job was to do the garage floor.
I was going to epoxy the floor but to much work and didn't like to leave the cars outside.
I found these PVC tiles (30cmX30cm).
They lock into one another.
It took about half and hour to lay the whole garage floor.
Just at the end of the rollers doors I painted the floor to match in with the tiles.

Welcome to GJ Aaron,

Nice looking place you have there.
What size are those roll up doors?
I had considered a roll up door in my build but the cost was out of my budget.
What are your plans for the place?

Great progress on the garage. Looks like it is going to be a super space. I will be watching to see how you set things up. I like the floor tiles, and not sure I have seen those anywhere before. Nice. Thanks for sharing with us and welcome.

Best Regards
Herb

Thanks for visiting PECVD2.

The doors are 2.4 mtrs wide and 2.2 mtrs high.
These are new roller doors. The other doors had broken springs.
My plans at the moment is to get things set up and enjoy but this will take time.

Also enjoy your Garage as well as your other activities you post.
Believe it my wife found those PVC tiles. I was driving everybody crazy on what to do with the floor.

Next stage was to get most of my car detailing product to the garage.
I don't have to much room but these cabinets hold lots of stuff.

That is about the same space I have for detailing supplies, except mine is kept on an open metal shelf. I wish I had something to keep the dust off everything. Looks like you got a great set up. Keep up the great organization!

This is my Daily driver.
Its a Ford Courier GL ute. I bought it new (2005). It's the longest I have owned a car.
I detail the car and keep the services up to date.
I noticed the headlights starting to go yellow so I bought a headlight lens restorer kit.
Cleaning the headlights took about half and hour.
Once finished the headlights looked brand new again.
It just clocked up 90000KM this week so I gave it a service and cleaned under the bonnet.

Super nice vehicle. I bet it really comes in handy for hauling new toys back to the shop!

Good job on the headlights as well.

This is my other car. My wife drives this daily.
Nothing flash a 2014 Ford Territory Titanium RWD Turbo Diesel.
Wont be keeping it for long had a few issues with it, and Ford Australia don't give a S**T.

Hey, nice job on the floor. I got some questions.
How is handling the stopping and reversing on the wheels?
does it move?
did you stick down the front edge?
Are the lights still clear?

G'Day all,
Haven't updated in a while so here goes.
We sold the Ford Territory due to a lot of issues with the car and got my wife a Hyundai Santa Fe.
Now I must admit I didn't want the car but my wife said lets go and have a look.
Well was I wrong its a fantastic car with everything on it.
We have had it for 9 months now and with 14000km on it and no problems.
Here are some photos the day we picked it up and the other after a wash.

Hi Terrick down Under,

No problem with the tiles as they have not moved. The way my wife parks the car by turning the wheels coming into the garage and reversing.
No I didn't glue them down just cleaned the concrete floor first sweeping out the garage then laying the tiles down.
I have had them down for about 2 years now with no issues. I will doing my shed the same way soon.
The head lights are still clear but I have now sold the car.

I got offered good money for my 2005 Ford Courier Ute so I took it.
Then brought myself a 2016 Ford Ranger 4X4.
It has a 5 cylinder Volvo Turbo diesel motor in it.
Got in December 2015 and has just clocked up 11000km.
Its a nice car a has plenty of grunt for me.
First photo picking up from dealer.
Second photo with the canopy on .
Third photo taking it around Bathurst race track.

We after everything done to the house the kitchen was the last thing that needed doing. Our house is over 30 years old and the kitchen was original.
We got 4 companies out for quotes and 1 company come back to use with a quote for $35000:shocking:. No thankyou.
If company representatives turn up for measure quotes and don't come back to me I don't believe in chasing them up. But my wife did and there quotes were no better.
So my wife and I did it ourselves.
It turned out better than we thought.
Before and after shots.
Once completed we did for under $11000.

Just great to see you posting again! Nice SUV and Kitchen remodel. It looks really nice.
The kitchen floor tiles and black bar stools look really nice as that sets the kitchen off with a bang. Looks like your having some good days there. I really wish we could get those Ford Rangers here in the states. We are so limited on a compact truck these days.

Again great to see your post!

Best Regards
Herb

I go to Narrabri a far bit to see friends of ours. From my house to Narrabri is about 7 hours drive.
www.visitnarrabri.com.au
They own 3 John Deer cotton harvester model 7760.
It has 6 rows for picking the cotton.
395Kw (530 horse power).
There is a driver but all he does is watch the computer screen as it is run by a GPS system. He does a little driving with it but not that much.
These photos are about 2 years old.
As you can see my kids are having some fun in the wheel wells.

1/2 Cup,

When the rang me to see if I was happy with the quote I said I didn't ask for a gold plated kitchen.
He didn't like that comment.
As I said the other quotes weren't to far off hence the reason for us to do it.

Is awesome!

My kids would love that.

Great work on the kitchen mate. Doing it yourself is the way to go. Save $20k, get exactly what you want, and the satisfaction of a job well done.

Have been busy with work and house updates.
A job I have been putting of for a while was window locks.
Every window was a different key and just about a different colour.
With Masters (hardware store) closing down I took advantage with 40% all window and sliding door locks.:rocker:
It was a pain to remove the one direction screws in the old window locks.
So it was a excuse to buy some easy outs. They worked a treat.
All up took about 2 hours.

Also with this time of year its Magpie season. They have a great reputation with swopping people as they go past there nests.
About 6 years ago I rescued a baby Magpie not very old. When it starting learning to fly away she went. To my surprise she has stayed and kept the Indian myna birds away. She dosnt swop anybody and brings here babys down as well. Here she is having a feed.
I don't really feed her but she likes her mince and popcorn.
Her name is Chops and the male is Rissole. The kids named her.
These 2 photos are of Chops.
