Went to the Gold Coast for Christmas and New year.
Here is a few photos of our cabin. With my feet up enjoying a Bourbon. Sea World is right in front of us. We don't do the theme parks as we have done them pleanty of other times.
Also the new boat ramp that is now open.
And of course home made Hamburgers.

We went for a 1 hour ride on the Aqua Duck. It was great. It drives on the road then goes into the water like a boat. The tour took us around Gold Coast then we hit the water to view the million dollar houses. I didn't think the houses they were that nice for the money we were told they are worth. I think the most expensive was $26 million dollars.:shocking:
Once the Aqua Duck is in the water all the kids get to have a drive and they get there license. The Aqua Duck cost $1.5 million dollars to buy new.
Here is a few photos sorry but the photos taken of my phone.

Another day we went on a 5 hour fishing trip. Didn't catch anything my wife and daughter were sick the entire time on the boat. It was very choppy with the boat rocking side to side. At the end of the trip everybody was sick. Only 1 photo.

Today I got a few presents for myself. I think I deserve it just ask me.
These products are for the cars and other things around the house and shed.
All the Meguiars products are in 1 gallon size bottles. Also they can be diluted to various strengths.
I have done a 1 litre bottle of Super degreaser. Diluted 4-1. Just need to make a label for the bottle. I will get more spray bottles and make more up over the weekend.

Cool presents, when are you booked for the detailing clinic?

You are going to have to make some cool racks for the gallon bottles now :D

GB.

GB,

As for the detailing clinic I had to pass on it as we have a wedding to go to which we only found out on Monday:shocking:

I already have a few spots to store the gallon bottles which I will take some photos once I have made up my other 1 litre bottles.

With the temperature going to be about 40 degrees this weekend I would prefer to be drinking  and staying cool. I don't have a air conditioner in my shed. But I do have ducting in the house.

Thanks for stopping in.

I'm with you there mate! I don't have a/c in the garage either, but will in the next one! Damn it!

But I also have ducted in the house, well most of it, and the rest has a split covering it, so I'm in hiding. It hit 41 here today, and 44 at the next town over the hill (Picton). So garage time wasn't high on the must do list, unfortunately.

Just wish I could convince you guys to go for the Australian made Bowdens Own, before going for the Meguiars stuff. It really is very good, and - oh, Australian!

Sometimes it's hard to find though, which is a pity - but they have a great range, and it's very good stuff, especially their window cleaner and car washes. Oh, and they have cool names!

Steve

It's a pity they aren't better marketed. It's mainly FB, and people who follow the classic Australian Racing Car scene. Look at them here :

http://www.bowdensown.com.au/

Their collection of Australian great racing cars is hitting 70 cars now. Everything from the Moffstang, to many of Brock's Bathurst cars, Geoghan's Mustang, Beechy's Monaro, and many, many others (think an original Shelby Cobra, 190 SL Merc, the "Grey *****" (Mk2 Jag) . . . . And keep going.

It's a place to tour on my bucket list, one day soon (when funds allow). They have a great gathering each Bathurst weekend, normally backed up with one of the greats in attendance.

Anyway - ran't over. (I should be on their sales staff - Fair Dinkum!)

Lyndon
Panting, just a little.

Lyndon,

I live not to far from Richmond RAAF base. It got to 42 today.

I agree I will have air conditioning in my next shed. That's some time away though.

As for supporting Australian made products I agree with you 100%. But some products like his tyre shine has silicone in it. I don't use any silicone base products for cleaning the interior of my cars either. As for the cleaning the windows I use Metholayted spirits and have done so since I can remember. Metho doesn't leave a residue.

Thanks for stopping in.

I don't use any products on my dash (or vinyl) that have silicon or oil based products in them either. I generally don't use anything except a damp cloth on the dash, and I haven't had a cracked dash on any car I've owned in 40 years.

But the tyre shine I find great. And easy to use, without streaking or splashing back on the panels for days after using it.... And the car wash is really smooth. . . .

And they're window cleaner is the best I've ever used (and I cleaned a lot of wedding cars in my time).

Lyndon
Just sayin' :dunno:

Lyndon,

I just looked up sillycheap (Supercheap) and they sell the window cleaner for $14.69 for a 500ml bottle. I will go a get a bottle on the weekend if I get time.
As for the car wash I will get some when I need it as I have heaps here at the moment.
I clean my interior the same way as you.

Can you buy direct from Bowdens?

Have you guys tried a good quality "teak oil" ( used by your wives on the dining table) on your vinyl dash and door panels, it doesn't bleed white up the inside of the windscreen. I have been using it since I was 21 yo. No good on a steel dash but. "just my own thoughts"

Great Products!

I use this stuff a lot as well. They also make a detailer called "Last Touch".
It really will shine about any place in or on the vehicle. I use it in a spray bottle as I dry or shammy the outside. I think I get a gallon jug on Amazon if I remember right.

Best Regards
Herb

I can't add much to this conversation except that knowing Lyndon (the master detailer) I would trust his opinion. Shine on mates.

Thanks Herb. Some of the products I used on the weekend and they worked a treat.

Thanks dlcwent. I have taken Lyndons advise and will get some Bowdens window cleaner. As for the other products from Bowdens I will start to look at when my other products get low.

Well it was extremely hot here on the weekend. The temperature got to 46 degrees on Friday and Saturday was no better.
I managed to dilute my Meguiars products down into the bottles I got from the big Green store. I used the super degreaser and it work great.
A couple of photos and also labeled them with the dilution ratios.

Has been a busy few weeks here at home. We got my wife's car back a few weeks ago and it looks great.
My back yard needed a face lift. The lawn was not level and it was annoying.
First job was to remove all the plants and the soil. My friend came over with his Dingo to remove the stumps and level the yard. More to follow.

We put some pavers down which go from the verandah to the car port side where I keep the garbage bins. Filled in the paver area with 10ml blue metal.
I used a product called Link Edge http://www.linkedge.com.au/ around the garden. Easy to install and a great finish.
I got 4 tonne of top dressing to level the yard.
Now all I need is the grass to grow and the plants to grow.
Thanks for looking in.

Last weekend was funny with the weather. On Saturday it was hot then the rain came with 3 half size golf balls of hail.
About half hour away from me the hail had destroyed cars and houses.

Aaron, good one:thumbup:

There is nothing like a garden make over, speaking of which my lawns are beckoning.

Aaron, love the pavers and blue metal, its similar to what I have done here..:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks Steve. Maybe that's where I got the idea from.
I just wanted something easy.
Done quickly and of coarse right and within my budget.

Cant mow my front yard today as we are getting rain which we need.

Have a good day Steve.
