Good on you for trying to save the other snake, I have had my fair share of snakes, but not sure I would trust any venomous snake. Cool pictures though.

I personally wouldn't have the stones to touch those snakes but I'm glad you didn't kill them. They are beautiful and you got some great pictures.

The mailbox looks great. Awesome to see a "small" project come out so well.

Snakes are more afraid of you than you are of them. At least, that is what I keep telling myself. Not working so well.

I hate spiders and snakes alike. I don't go hunting for either of them, but if they enter my premises, and I can get to them, they ain't making it out alive.

Always had the idea when I first moved down to Atlanta years ago to do this somewhere on the westside- having a garage/industrial style loft...that never materialized but I love the idea!

That is a great question! I’ll ask when she gets back from walking them. Then she’s feeding her Argentine Tegu and cleaning the mice cages.

Thanks! The original plan was to drive (4) threaded rods into the ground. The interior framing of it is all pressure treated and there’s cross members that I can drill holes in when the time comes and secure with washers and nuts. Now I may pour a small concrete pier that protrudes above ground a couple inches.

LBC is great! As rough as Murphy Ave. appears, it’s a treasure chest of businesses.

If anyone in Atlanta is in need of cardboard boxes or packaging materials I suggest Cut Rate Box Co. next door to LBC. I’ve had clutches built at Clutch Specialties too.

I used to live in an industrial space on the property with the blue water tower, now called “The Met”. It’s currently undergoing a huge transformation away from what was mostly starving artists when I was there lol!

Another favorite place on Murphy Ave. is a former auto parts store that is home to the architectural firm BLDGS.

He's clearly used to handling all kinds of snakes, so he's probably aware that copperhead envenomation is not fatal (the venom is mild) except under extremely rare circumstances (immune system problems/allergic reactions). Amazing pictures! That said, I wouldn't recommend that anyone attempt to emulate the OP in that regard.

For the first time in a year and a half of ownership, I was finally able to use the 30’x40’ garage to work on a vehicle. The cold and rain is a great motivator for organizing—especially when you have a seized caliper on your work vehicle!

I think I read a statistic that over 90% of the people who get bitten by a snake are harassing the snake at the time

It’s very rare to get bitten by a poison snake
And even more rare to die from it

It happens
But car accidents are far far more likely to kill you than a snake bite and no one is afraid to get on the highway
