about a 24' wide garage

Looking to make the garage 24' wide with a 10' walls With a depth of 50'. I would like to have cathedral ceiling in my garage. This way I can have an offshore boat inside and be able to open the engine hatch with no problems. The garage will be attached to the house. I would like to have the roof lines match each other on the house.

Looking to have an 18' wide by 10' tall garage door. Could I get by with a 8/12roof pitch with a cathedral ceiling inside?

your wall height would have to be taller then your garage door height so you can run a header above the door

50 feet is too much to go with a ridge beam type construction.
So you will have to go with scissors trusses.
That means inside clearance vs. outside look will be a question of width.
What is you current home roof ratio that you are trying to match?

This will not be for current home but for my future house. Then it would be scissor trusses. The wall would be 10' tall. the width of the garage is 24' wide. The outside of the garage will be matching with rest of the house The gutters on the would line up with each other perfectly. The house would have a 1' of foundation. The garage would be a front entry. This would not look like it would overwhelm the house. All I want is more head room in the garage while working on my boat.
The garage door will be 18' wide either 9' tall or 10' tall if I can get away with the scissor trusses. The roof line will run the length of garage in case one needs to make garage deeper.
