When taping off the garage door line where the seal meets the concrete, what type of tape would work best for this?? Will the green painters tape do the job??
Also how do i prevent the acid etching from eating away the concrete past the taped line???
Thanks

We used Gorilla Duct Tape and made sure we hand/finger pressed it down to the floor. When the sun hit it we went back and pressed down again. We did 100% strength acid on some of our floor and it not etch under the tape. I will say when we pulled up the tape it left a little glue but it was easy to get up using the tape ball from what we pulled up. We just pressed down on that glue area a few times and it pulled up with the tape ball.

We ended up grinding our floor and used a 2x6 to set a straight line at our door edge. We had our kids stand on the 2x6 and they moved off it as the machine drove down the edge. Kids = Cheap Labor.

Forgot you asked about past the tape line.

We sprayed a layer of hot water mixed with baking soda all over the driveway where the acid runoff from the garage would go. I had one of my kids keep walking back and forth spraying to keep the driveway wet with the baking soda solution. After we sprayed the acid in the garage with the baking soda mixture to neutralize it that is when we washed out the garage and driveway. 3 weeks later we cannot see any evidence of acid damage on the driveway. If you have grass that will get the acid or baking soda solution on it MAKE SURE TO KEEP IT SUPER WET or it will die off.

We mixed approx 2 cups of baking soda with 2 gallons of water in a pump sprayer. We used 4 (1 lb) boxes of baking soda.
