I am building a 50x60 with 16'sidewalls. Stick framing and will eventually be drywall interior. I have plenty of boxes for lights and ceiling fans. Garage door openers are jackshaft mounted. Is there anything else electrical specifically but also other considerations for the ceiling you recommend before closing it up?

BTW, I'll be posting a garage build in the next month or so!

I was in the same boat a few months ago. I ran Cat 6 to an AP and a couple of drops for televisions if I ever decide to put them in. Air lines, power for a lift (which I don't have....someday), speaker wires, and lots of insulation.

What about a 2 foot square access hole in case you decide to add more insulation or add another wire drop? They make them now with insulation for the lid/cover.

Dust collection for woodworking would go good in ceiling if left with cleanouts as needed. I was able to put most of mine in my slab before I had it poured. Still ended up with some along one wall. but most of it out of sight and out of mind under the floor. I don't know your hobbies but plan for them before you close the ceiling up. An I beam for hoist also is handy if you ever need it for automotive/ heavy lifting.

If you ever wanted exterior floodlights or security cams in the future, at the corners of the building/undersoffits, now would be the time to run the cables.

If it works with your ceiling height, this compact ladder works well if you want to leave a relatively small access hole in the ceiling.

Its not real obvious from the picture, but this does not work like the typical pull-down attic ladder.

The wooden access door in the ceiling is completely separate from the ladder, so you can insulate and seal it however you want. The ladder slides closed in sections (like an extension ladder) and then the entire assembly slides up on tracks through the opening and stores in the attic. Once you have the sections closed, you use a handle to push the entire assembly up, and it just pivots and stores in the attic. Then you swing the attic door shut and latch it.
