Love this forum, Im in South Australia and am about to rebuild my workshop. I used to work as a blacksmith making ornamental iron furniture, sculpture etc in this shed, Im in web design now so this will be my new garage. My mopar is currently in another shed with not much room.
You can see in one of the outside pics where Im going to put the new swinging door to drive the car in, the steel for the door is on the trailer too... hehe
Ill try and use this forum as drive to show you guys what Im doing so I get motivated to do it. Im originally from New Zealand and dont really know any car guys here in Aus.

Hehe, from the pics I guess you cant tell much about the structure huh. Its in no danger of falling over, its got a heavy steel frame, the wood you see on the corro is just to attach the cladding to. The brown upright you can see there is going to be removed and shifted to the right.

And are you going to repaint it all one color? The whole multi color thing just isnt cutting it....go for a nice pink color....show your feminine side....ladies like that :bounce:

Well I like the shiny new iron... all my other sheds are straight galv unpainted, they have a much tidier feel to them. This one has been painted inside and out in 2 bad colours. Ill be painting it inside for sure. perhaps the outside will get a silvery colour, more work though.

Well, the door is finished and I can now drive a car in.... Im currently getting a lot of my old junk out of the shed, old cabinets used for storage, workbenches etc, anything that isnt "pretty" enough for my new look!
I got given a big double door fridge, I saw a post on here about a company that sells custom decals for them to make them look like a fuel pump or tool chest, thats given me the idea to paint it up... currently stripping and readying it.
I think Ill build my new workbench as nothing I found on my day long search for toolchests/workbenches really looked good enough.

I put in my keyless door entry today, took a while but its great, punch in my code, hit hash and door pops open, and just slam it shut and its locked. I have one on another shed and think they are great.

My other one has been out in the rain for 2 years no problem, but theres no gasket or anything around the faceplate, maybe theres a membrane on the keypad though. I might silicone this one to be sure, I was thinking about that as I installed it today..

I've never seen a car and garage go so well together. Both look very industrial.... Keep us posted.

That shop has a lot of potential. Keep up the good work!

Is that an a/c unit up on the roof?

I love the Aussie Charger! Is that the same 360 V8 we have here in the states? I thought those cars came with a Hemi line 6?

Yup AC, gets to 45 celcius here in summer, 360 is the same, awesome engines. The Aus charger did mainly come with the 265 hemi 6 but a bunch of other engines also, 225,245, 340 and 360 V8's, mine was originally a 6 though.
Shed is coming along, inside has had a lot of the junk removed and is getting quite tidy, starting to clad the interior walls, Ive painted a double fridge up a la the cool tools (was that the one?) website with the fridge kits, it looks great. Ill get some more pics up soon..

That's "cool"! I've not seen a/c installed on the roof here, except in comercial applications.

Wholly cow, just did the conversion on 45C, that's 113F !!!! I guess you do need a/c inside that metal buidling.

I grew up driving a Duster witha 225, and always wanted one of those Hemi 6's. I'll bet that 360 scoots.

Looking forward to pics of that fridge.

Yeah I bought it used and installed it a few years ago, drops temp by about 10 degrees, winters here are great, summers are pretty warm, about 15-20 days of over 40 c. I used to do blacksmithing in this building so with the forge etc it was pretty warm.
Yeah Charger goes well, Ive just put a 3.50 rear axle in it from the old 2.92, havent had it on the road yet but should be a huge difference, although its all ok to drive, just need to get an inspection done to get it road legal.

Small update, wall is getting covered... Im using hardiplex instead of plater board, I find hardiplex more durable and I cant be bothered with all the finishing/plastering/sanding required for plaster board, should still look ok when its painted.
The fridge is not quite finished yet, I need to put in a few rows of fake toolchest type handles. Ive disconnected everything except the interior lights which make finding things in there much easier. Ive got a lot of racks etc to put back in but this thing is great, I love how it looks and the space inside is very usable. I opened it this morning after a cold night and everything in there was very cold, almost like it had been running.... my glues , locktite and perishables should get a better shelf life in there.

Nice upgrade on the rear gears for the Charger. Your rear tires aren't going to like that one bit!

The fridge looks great. I like the Charger nameplate. Though I must admit, I've never seen one full of chemicals before. So that's your fireproof cabinet then? Clever re-use of a fridge.

I'm not familiar with hardiplex. What is it?

Hardiflex or hardiplank is.... um ... not sure how to describe it, its 4.5mm thick, fibrous/cement type of board. You can break it quite easily but its tougher than platerboard. Its weather resistant also, it soaks up water a bit but just dries out. About 2x the price of platerboard, its often used a s a cheap exterior cladding.

Minor update, walls are up, paint is next.
the fire extinguisher was a birthday present from my wife this week, Ill mount that when the walls are painted.
The rusty steel frame is going to be my new AMAZING workbench..
Its going to get sandblasted and painted glossblack. Im buying a 3in1 sheemetal shear and folder soon and will be folding up my own drawers for it. The top will be a laminated hardwood with a full gloss finish, this thing should look good! And it wont cost much, the frame was something the previous owners of this place left behind, it was used in there nursery, they used to pot plants on it.

Wow, that's coming along nicely! Cool gift from the wife. Hope you never have to use it.

I think that workbench frame looks too light weight for the job!!!!!!! LOL You should be able to rebuild engines on top of that one.

The walls are coming along nicely too. Great work on the arched doorway. Where does that lead?

I made that door a while ago, it was the entrance to my showroom, where I displayed my blacksmithing work. There is also a very ornate "tree gate" further up the path that leads to the door, that took me 3 months to make...
I dont do that work anymore, so its now just a fancy entrance to my revamped garage :)

Wow, that's very nice. You do good work!

My brother shoed horses for a number of years, and the time bent over the forge finally got to his back. I can't imagine the amount of time you must have put into that.
