Above the floor motorcycle storage

Guys,
I have two small motorcycles (250/350cc race bikes) that I want to store in my 20x30 garage. I have seen other garages where small bikes like these are literally "put on the shelf" or a small mezzanine. Do any of you have a setup like this? Also, what are some of your ideas and setups to easily raise and lower the bikes? Each bike weighs about 350 lbs and I would be looking to raise them to a platform height of about 5 ft.

You could always build a hoist system to hang them from the ceiling joists. That's what I have done with my fiberglass dune buggy body while I work on the chassis. I don't have a hoist/pulley system since this is basically a 1 time deal, I just paid some buddies in beer to come help me lift it, but originally I was considering using a cheap wince from HF to raise & lower it with block & tackle hoist system.

These are ridden regularly during the summer. Stored during the winter. Forklift would certainly work, but then I would have to find a place for the forklift, LOL. I need simple, low cost, secure, lift system.

Pricey!

Get a 4 post at that price, get a center plate, and park a whole bunch on it.

I use pallet racking.

I use a 4 post lift on the other side of my racking, but if I wanted to put bikes up parallel to the rack beams I could use a hoist to pull the bikes up in the racking and then put the flooring under the bike once it was high enough. Standard pallet racking (42" deep) is 37" between the beams so you can hoist any bike that is narrower than 37". Deeper pallet racking is also available.
