abrasive nylon bristle brushes

Saw these at the hardware store yesterday. What do they do better than something else?

My comments below reflect nylon bristle brushes in place of wire brushes you would use on a drill. Not sure that's what you're referring to...

More flexible than wire. Mine have lasted a little longer and they don't have the flying pieces of metal that accompany wire brushes.

Not as aggressive as course wire brushes. I think it depends on what you're using it for and whether they benefit you.

I'm currently using one to take paint off of a old Snap On box (K60) that has a lot of hard to reach areas underneath the lid.

Great for working on fiberglass. I use a 60 grit cup to prep existing fiberglass to new material. Not bad for stripping old paint off metal either.

Also, I find that they don't hurt as much when you accidentally run them across your skin.
