My comments below reflect nylon bristle brushes in place of wire brushes you would use on a drill. Not sure that's what you're referring to...

More flexible than wire. Mine have lasted a little longer and they don't have the flying pieces of metal that accompany wire brushes.

Not as aggressive as course wire brushes. I think it depends on what you're using it for and whether they benefit you.

I'm currently using one to take paint off of a old Snap On box (K60) that has a lot of hard to reach areas underneath the lid.

Great for working on fiberglass. I use a 60 grit cup to prep existing fiberglass to new material. Not bad for stripping old paint off metal either.
