Absolute Steel?

Hello all. I've been lurking here and find this site to be a great source of info.

I'm close to getting a garage built here on Long Island and decided a steel building is probably the way to go as stick built is very expensive.
I happened upon the following link regarding Absolute Steel and was wondering if anyone can punch holes through their marketing claims!
I'm not handy and find building a structure to be quite intimidating and Absolute Steel is doing a fine job of convincing me I can indeed do it!
Their website touts the advantage of not having a heavy Ibeam and that their structure is a "Stand alone" unit.
I would really appreciate some opinions on this. If I can get away with hiring a crane i'd consider this a huge advantage.

Check with yout township (I'm Islip town) for info on bldg code...


engineered drawings for the bldg as well as the concrete gets pretty pricey

The concete work can also get very expensive (more than the cost of the bldg) depending on what is called for...

I used United Steel Buildings and was happy overall with their customer service. Sue Adler at United helped me a bunch.

BTW Absolute was my first choice but do to the towns requirements in peak height I had to go another direction as Absolute couldn't design what I needed in my particular case...

Thanks Rob. I believe Absolute Steel includes engineered drawings with their purchase price.
Understand what you mean about checking code...I live in Crookhaven...er, Brookhaven Town.
United Steel Buildings is a local company? Did you build yourself or let them take care of it?


Edited: Upon further checking Absolute Steel charges $650 for engineered drawings.

What building manufacturer did you go with ?
What do you think of the building you put in ?

Just trying to get some info on Absolute ?
