abzorb sorbent pads

Recently I was visiting a garage and they had these pads that you could place under where something is dripping (use it kind of like speedy dry).


I keep large metal drip pans under my cars. I get tired of wiping up the fluids and was thinking that putting something like this on top of the metal pans (so that I can just throw it away now and then). I could use speedy dry but I prefer to use that for unexpected messes.

We use pig mats. The gray pick up the oil+water, the white will pick up oil only and leave the water. They work very well. Price is fairly high, so they(work) switched to a cheaper pad. It doesn't work as well as the pig mats.

If your vehicle leaks are minor, another option might be something that aborbs and also protects the floor (puppy training pads):

Fairly inexpensive compared to the pig mat type products. They have a plastic type backing that will protect your floor.

If your leaks can't be contained by these pads, it may be better/cheaper to have them fixed

Thanks for the suggestions. One of these three solutions will do. I will fix them all eventually but some of my old cars will leak a little even if they are perfect (the nature of the beasts).

Fill your drip tray with cheap cat litter. It'll absorb the liquids and can be thrown out with the rubbish (trash).

Those look like they'll work fine, just make sure that you get ones that are thick and strong enough so they don't leak or tear easily.

You bettcha.... Like stated, buy ones that soak both oils and water for what you want them for. We buy different brands, but usually 3M products. A lot of folks sell them... Leaving out the pennies, they go for about a buck a piece. We have not used oil dri for a number of years in our shop..mats are all we use except for major situations, which we try our best to avoid.
