I do a few ac lines per year and I've got to do one on my own car. Typically I just replace the line. The line is on back order and I've got to do one on my car. I realize a local shop can crimp the lines (which I may end up doing for my own car if need be) but I don't get paid to run to the local parts store, get it crimped and Come back on customer cars. Second problem with the parts store crimps is sometimes the line is meant to fit a certain way and ends up getting crimped and needing to be twisted.I don't mind investing the manual tool it's fairly cheap.
I'm looking at the master cool set but I've also stumbled on an atco 3710. Anybody used either of these before? Crimps hold up well? Easy to crimp without having a leak?
Second thing is can these be used for power steering lines as well? Crimps look similar in appearance wondering if they are interchangeable? I realize you should use a hydraulic tool meant for hydraulic lines but I'm not looking to spend thousands.
Also it seems you can buy the hydraulic knockoffs from China...anyone have any experience with these?
