this is beyond my forte and I'm taking a huge deep dive.....

Got me a iCharger 4010 Duo on its way and a meanwell RSP-1500-48.

I guess I'll *I'll figure* out the wiring once I have them in my hands...
Anyone into RC flying who messes with similar charging setups. Mind if I poke your brain on SAFE charging setups ?

The 4010 comes with an EC5 connector on the power cable. Should be pretty easy to make a cable to go from the EC5 to the terminals on your power supply.

Nice charger though, I had a 308 duo for a few years. I switched over to PL8s when I thought I wanted the bump controller but I never got around to getting it.

What type of RC are you into?

Indeed, Has a pigtail for that. Not sure how that mates onto the meanwell and or even on the AC side....Have yet to see the PSU.

Not into RC at all. My lil one just got into nerf guns. For christmas, I mosfetted and setup 2 of them (one for pops and one for home) for lipo setup. Heh, baby steps I suppose in the whole battery thing. I went with the 4010 as eventually we'll get there...

Since you are doing lipo get some protection for the battery at least while charging. Those things tend to explode.

That is a MONSTER PSU ! 48V @ 32A !! The output is 2 large bus bar ends that you are supposed to bolt a ring terminals on to. You could do some serious arc welding with that !

Nice charger/psu.... no help here.

Was just wondering what kind of nerf guns that use batteries like these and required a $500+ charger/power supply.... hmmm I guess RC has changed so much.
I looked up nerf guns this pop-up... is one of these guys your little one?

LOL dog. I was never into Nerf guns myself.
I swear, one day my lil one was just into singing the toddler nursery songs and then it became all about the nerf guns ;-) I've learned from him all about the nerf guns. I'm just the one that can facilitate the mods for it....

Don't get me started. Little did I know nerf modders start with a $40 gun and before you you know it, you're spending another 2-3 hundred in kits/mods on it !! That doesn't even include the paint labor time

Good golly. Got the order in. Are most PSU/charger setups like such. Those bus bars just sticking out....

Going to have to think of a good setup insulating those once I have the wiring dialed in.

For that size, YES ! For industrial equipment, power supply like that is permanently mounted and a plexiglass shield cober the hole rear area.

Going to have to think of a good setup insulating those once I have the wiring dialed in.
Use uninsulated ring terminals and 10 gauge wire.

Then get some large diameter heat shrink tubing, NOT THE DUAL WALL/MARINE GRADE THAT MELTS on, that you can slip up over the terminal, screw and up on to the bus bar. You may need a small separate smaller diameter piece of heat shrink to seal that big tube to the wire better.

Take a picture of what you come up with !

Segue - I worked on an old computer system in the early 80s. It had FIVE 5V@100A power supplies. Just a plexiglass shield covered the connection.

Virgin Chasity Belt removed. Did our 1st charge on the unit....
I know it's way overkill, but buy once cry once.

I can see how I would use it to do storage discharge.
And or discharge cycle so I could potentially charge 5-6 batteries on a balance board

Just short of that, it's one glorified charger for me. Again, this is all foreign and new. For those into this sorta thing, what else would one use said charger capabilities for. Just for my wiki.

I'll just wait till it get's warmer - like a spring/summer project where I can mount this all up on a board/makeshift charge box and stuff.

Going to get used to this learning curve. Apparently, when not in use, LIPO don't like to be in a full SOC so I ended up using the discharge function to put them into storage.

LOL. Me wonders why cordless tool manuf. don't have a discharge-storage option on the charger. My Dewalt 60V that I use mainly in the spring/summer/warmer months, I pretty much do discharge them with use so I keep them around the 2/3 mark or so.
