I acquired an AC Delco cabinet a month or so ago. It's from 1975. I am trying to figure out what the extra parts that came with it are for. The parts are chrome square tubes and hardware. It appears to be some sort of handle but I don't see any other holes for this to attach to. Also, the inside of the upper doors have rods in a vertical position. Anyone know what they held or we're for? Thanks.

Those are legs for the bottom cabinet. Open up the cabinets and look down in each corner there should be a square hole in one of them. The legs go thru there and are bolted thru the sides of the cabinet.

The back legs are straight up and down and the front legs I think are on an angle, but they can also be straight up and down. The holes on the sides of the cabinet will dictate which way they go.

The hard white plastic squares should be threaded and are for the bottom of the legs and the round feet with the screws attached screw in them to level the box on an uneven floor. I guess they could go in the front. Looks like you only have one. You can pick up another at Home Depot. The two hard black plastics ones are for the bottom front legs. The soft black caps are for the tops of the legs.

The cabinet with all the small spaces in the doors is the top. Those spaces are used for spark plugs (in their boxes) or for points and condensers and other small electrical parts in their boxes.

The bottom box can be used for larger parts.

By the way, nice find on the AC Delco boxes. I have a set of Motorcraft ones from the same era.

Thank you for the help. There are not any Square slots on the bottom inside but underneath all the crud and grease I located the holes on the sides it looks like the legs attached to the outside of the cabinet. I need to see if it will stay level without the leveling feet since I am missing one of those white plastic caps. I started cleaning it up today. With a little elbow grease and a small air polisher I was able to clean up the top portion of the cabinet.

Ok, great!

I had legs for mine at one time also, but I wanted to be able to move it easily so I removed them and attached casters to the bottom so I could move it when needed.

I seemed to have misplaced one of the swivel bolts and cant find one that fits. Anyone know what I could do? Now I am missing one of the white nuts and the swivel bolt. Not easy to find.

I think you're talking about the leveling leg bolts and the plastic nuts that insert into the metal tube. Not sure where you could get an actual replacement but search around the web for "leveling legs" and "leveling leg plastic inserts".

Here's an Amazon search and an eBay search to get you started: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_...insert&rh=i:aps,k:leveling+leg+plastic+insert

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...RS0&_nkw=leveling+leg+plastic+insert&_sacat=0

I do remember seeing some type of leveling leg and insert in the Lowe's hardware cabinets awhile back but can't remember if the insert was square or round.

I missed your original post the first time around. I have the same AC Delco cabinet. If you need pics of how things go together, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

My fault for not clarifying. Yes, the leveling bolts. The problem I found is trying to find the plastic nuts that will fit in the metal tube legs coupled with trying to find a pair of leveling bolts that will fit said nuts. Not easy. I found M7 nuts that will fit after I shave down the plastic a little bit but can't find any levelers.
