I have a quote for a King and a quote for a Lennox.

They are $250 dollars apart. Both are 2 ton and the same "SEER".

Which one do I buy?

Thanks GJ!

Lennox makes a solid product. I've never heard of King, and I'm guessing it's a local/regional name.

This - buy a part for a new Lennox and you'll pass out. The parts are nearly 100% proprietary. Even the AC guys that sell Lennox acknowledge that issue.

Contactors and capacitors are no different then anything else, some of the higher SEER units use different condenser fan motors and have a control board that's specific to the unit.

Most Lennox equipment can get a 10 year parts warranty if registered online, the company I work for will back that up with 10 years labor IF annual maintenance is done.

What model Lennox?

RHEEM, probably built 50 homes with RHEEM, fewest callbacks I have ever had; most call backs were for TRANE, LENNOX a close second, and CARRIER was a nightmare too.
