I Ordered brass caps from mcmaster..plastic **** is on there now...

Anyway all better now..last 2 nights sucked..100 + 60 humidity...

80 psi (low)
57 deg line temp

with 100 out it my take some time to cool this oven off..lol...

But at least i'm not drippy now..


And the new low loss hoses arived today too, bad threads, cut udersize so used my old ones..grrrr

Bthen, it could be accidental. About half the leaks are schraders and they usually don't get checked while servicing!

oh trust me i know the games...thats why i'm fixing it my self as usual....

nice and cold at the vents , but it has some serious catching up to do..all in all it seems to be a pretty smal unit for a 3000 sq ft home..found out years later the builder was a charm too..uuuhhhhh...lots of 1/2 ***

our AC froze up again this AM.. was froze up on sunday.

friend came out to top off this past sunday.. cooled all week.. not an issue.

woke up to a warm house this AM, checked the condensor and its froze up.

it's gonna be 96 today, lovely. hopefully he can find the leak and get her fixed up.

Good luck... I know some older ones we have on our property run ~250 from the supply house. One of our friends wasn't so lucky, his ooold unit they actually had a couple NOS coils, but were $700 each!!! Still in the end it was a cheaper alternative then ripping out sheetrock and having to replace an entire air handler...

well now i find out i bought a cased coil instead of an uncased one..

hope this doesnt cause any delays...

Other thing is the indoor coil may be dirty. They sell coil cleaner for $6 at Home Depot. Spray a can of that on the indoor coil it really helps. Went though something similar this year and it ended up being a dirty indoor coil.

I had an A coil start leaking, the metal drain pan under it had rusted through and was dripping water into the furnace and shop under it. Of course it's no longer made and the sizes available were different than either the furnace or the duct work on top of it. Ended up replacing the furnace, cased A coil and having to redo the duct work. I had installed it myself about 2o years ago so it only took a couple of days to get everything back to working but did let it drip for a while into the shop with a bucket to catch the worst of the drain water.

House is cooling nicely. hopefully it stays that way.
