I have a job coming up where I need to replace most of the AC hoses on a piece of equipment. Maybe a couple I could splice in half way as they are very long. I just bought the crimper below, but I need to know where to get ferrules and hose for cheap.

I know the crimper is cheap quality, but I'm doing this job once, and thats about it. It might get used on some garden hose or something after that.

I'm guessing you are talking about hoses for compressed air? I can't recall ever seeing hoses on AC equipment (air conditioning), but I've not seen everything.

Automotive air conditioners always have hoses, and they use a crimper like that. You need hoses when the compressor is mounted to the engine that's on motor mounts, and the condensor and evaporator are mounted to the chassis.

What is the piece of equipment?
Do you know what sizes of line and what type of fittings you'll need?
I can get a lot of pre-made A/C lines as well as bulk hose and fittings

Did this tool work well for you? There's no substitute for a quality hose fabrication shop but I have a small job that will require some connections to be made in situ (they pass thorough bulkheads). And a few where the clocking will be hard to get right at a hose shop.

There are so many similar tools on Amazon, I think I'm going to have to buy one, even though I'll likely never use it again.

You need special hoses for A/C lines. Less expensive one will allow the refrigerant to "migrate" through the walls !

Parker or Napa. Must be matched to the hose. This can be a very deep squirrel hole.

I make custom and stock replacement ac hoses. You can buy the ferrell on several Internet sites as well as eBay and Amazon. You do need to know the #size and if it's standard hose or reduced barrier.

I have a hose fitting hydraulic crimp tool from MASTERCOOL. VEVOR name is on many tools. I am tempted to think Vevor is a reseller.
I have noticed Vevor showing up as gifts to the machinists on You Tube. These machinists turn into shills, say a bunch of nice things and get a free tool.

If you swap out the fittings to eaton areoquip then you don’t need a crimp tool. Just a simple pair of pliers. The areoquip hose is also smaller outside diameter but I haven’t found them less durable than the traditional bubble crimp.
