Hey guys. I have a new home, attached 2 car garage about 500 square feet. I would like some ideas on how to cool the garage the cheapest way possible. I have 1 wall that would be easy to put a vent in, as it is an exterior wall with no insulation, just sheet rock, 2x4s and plywood plus siding on the outside.

Any ideas on this? I really want to work on my car this summer, but the sun sets in front of my garage doors and makes it about impossible when its 90+ outside. Thanks for the help guys!

they do have those side vent / attic vent with shutters if you don't mind cutting a hole on the side...... me I just have a fan hung up in the ceilings for now.... will probably cut a hole in the roof when I get time later and install one of those solar exhaust fans...

Insulate! Insulation is the gift that keeps on giving it will definitely make it cheaper to cool (or heat) in the future.

That along with a window airconditioner and/or a fan.

The garage has no windows, so that is a bit of the problem. I think a mini split would be my best bet it looks like. Maybe I can find one on craigslist

most people would just cut a hole in the wall if you needed windows or FAN....Plenty of pic here if you search... but ....

Frame a hole and mount a 15~18K BTU window AC in the wall. That's as cheap as you'll find. Other than a big floor fan.
