Have a friend that says her ac is not blowing cold....a company has already changed the motor and capacitor. She says the attic fan is working, and the outside unit fan is working....ideas of what might be the problem? Freon maybe??

You haven't given enough info to diagnose the problem but refrigerant loss in home AC systems is not common. It could be as simple as a plugged air filter or dirty evaporator coils. The outfit that replaced the motor and capacitor without any other troubleshooting probably should not be trusted.

I agree....here's her last explanation.... :::.Bob Russell the fan stopped. They came out the first day and changed the capacitor and it worked for a couple hours then the fan stopped again. So the cake out and changed the motor and it was worked but was blowing hot. They came out the 3rd time and the fan was turning counterclockwise. It works and it blows cool but not cold.

Condenser fans running backwards will cause very low performance. Usually when they run backwards it's a bad run cap. Since they already replaced the fan and the cap, my bet is it was miswired.

Dogdad, let me ask, did she have cold air before the fan crapped? Then after a cap, new fan, and finally after fan running correct rotation she only has cool, but not cold air??? I would believe that the repair company screwed the pooch so to speak. Is there a chance (I'm betting so) that they put the wrong motor on? Maybe it's spinning too slow or too fast and hurting system performance??? I'd have demanded more after they had to come out a third time. The attention to detail ***** on their part. They could have easily put the wrong motor on. "Just use this motor it's close enough", close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades!!!

Check the condenser coils and see if they are clean. I've had condenser fans die because the coil was dirty enough that the fan couldn't pull enough air through to cool it's own motor.
It actually didn't look very dirty until the ac guy took the cleaner to it. The first replacement motor died the same way in few days because of the dirty coils.
That might explain her symptoms. Changing the cap let it cool down enough to work for little while before it got too hot and quit again.
